Supply drops in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are a type of container that occasionally drops from the sky to resupply Agnean or Keves soldiers and often contain valuable items. Read on to learn how to unlock supply drops and how to get them.

Defeat Enemies Around the Supply Drop

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Defeat Enemies Around the Supply Drop
Before you can open the supply drop, you need to defeat any enemies close to the container. Otherwise, you will get a prompt telling you the container is locked. Check if aerial-type enemies are flying around the container as well.

Press A to Open the Supply Drop

Once you find the supply drop and deal with the enemies guarding it, simply walk near the drop and press A on your controller to interact with it. A cutscene will follow afterward of your characters opening it.

After opening the supply drop, you'll be able to receive rare items and ingredients, as well as Nopon coins used for crafting gems, cooking meals, and Unlocking classes!

Need to Finish Ethel's Hero Quest

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - No Want of Courage
To unlock Supply Drops, you need to complete Ethel's Hero Quest "No Want of Courage" first before they start dropping. The quest becomes available after progressing through Chapter 3 of the story quest, where you have to gather medical supplies for Colony 4.

Look for a Trail of Red Smoke

Encountering a supply drop will usually prompt you to press ZR, where you'll be able to focus on where the supply drop will land, and a trail of red smoke will be visible from where it landed.

Once you determine the location of the drop, simply head there and defeat the enemies guarding it.
