Class Rating is the speed at which each character ranks up an individual class, so the lower their Class Rating, the slower it takes for them to rank up the class.
Ogre is the starting class of Sena, one of the main characters in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, so their class will be available for other party members to equip once you are able to change classes.
Changing classes is unlocked after completing The Hillside Hulk Standard Quest during Chapter 2 of the game.
After you unlock this class, it will have a rank cap of 10, so you are unable to upgrade its Arts and skills further than that rank. To break the rank cap and extend the limit up to Rank 20, you must first complete the quest Side Story: Sena.
Recommended Characters | |
---|---|
Lanz | Sena |
Due to their incredible Attack stats, these two are the best characters for Ogres, which is a class focused on raw power. Though Noah is not as recommended as the characters above, he also makes a decent Ogre thanks to his high Dexterity stat.
Art | Attack Type | AoE | Base Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Big Impact | Physical Attack | One Target | Inflicts Blowdown on enemy when attacking from front. |
Hammerhead | Physical Attack | One Target | Boosts damage dealt when attacking from the side by 100%. |
Maximum Voltage | Stance | Self | Attacks become unblockable and damage dealt is boosted by 20%. |
The Ogre Class specializes in hard-hitting Positional Arts. It is also recommended to have Stance Arts like Maximum Voltage to increase the damage or effectiveness of your attacks.
Art | Base Effect | Class Rank |
---|---|---|
Shadow Eye | Aggro Halved / Atk. Up |
Rank 10 |
Shield Bash | Topple |
Rank 10 |
Fatal Bite | Side attack ↑ |
Rank 10 |
Shadow Eye is the best Master Art for Ogres as it increases their attack while also reducing aggro. Shield Bash is also recommended for the Topple reaction, which increases the damage of this class thanks to one of its skills.
Fatal Bite is also a powerful attack, but if you use it with other Positional Attacks in the Ogre's palette, then the Positing Pro Master Skill is necessary.
Art | Base Effect | Class Rank |
---|---|---|
Violent Streak | AOE / Evade / Pierce |
Rank 20 |
Though the Talent Art of this class is already excellent due to its high damage, especially on Launched enemies, The evasion and defense-bypassing effects of Violent Streak are also a good alternative Talent Art for the class.
Skill | Effect | Class Rank |
---|---|---|
Positioning Pro | Increases the no. of positional arts that can be set to the Arts Palette by 1. |
Rank 5 |
Now That's Tactics! | At start of Chain Attack, increase TP by 5. |
Rank 5 |
Cursed Edge | Boosts damage dealt by 50% when attacking a debuffed enemy. |
Rank 5 |
Skills that increase damage potential work great on the Ogre class, which focuses primarily on Attack. Being an Attacker class, receving additional TP is always welcome due to the to bonus they get when attacking first in a chain.
Positioning Pro is also recommended since many Positional Arts work well with the class.
Skill | Effect | Class Rank |
---|---|---|
Covert Attack | Reduces aggro generated from attacks by 20%. |
Rank 15 |
Shock Shot | Boosts damage against enemies performing Arts by 60% |
Rank 15 |
Once you unlock Rank 15 Master Skills in some classes, Covert Attack and Shock Shot are two excellent skills to replace some of those in the list above. Covert Attack is especially important to help reduce aggro.
Boosted Damage on Launced Enemies | Increased Auto-Attack Damage | Boosted Attack |
---|---|---|
White Wraps | Assault Stone | Silver Belt |
White Wraps seem to be specially made for the Ogre Class since it specializes in launching enemies in the air. Increasing Attack damage is also beneficial, especially Auto-Attack damage since Ogre is an Agnus class.
Shortened Auto-Attack Interval | Grants a Chance of Auto-Attacking Twice | Increased Attack |
---|---|---|
Steady Striker | Doublestrike | Steelcleaver |
Due to their large weapon size, Ogres have slower Auto-Attack speed than most other classes. Auto-Attacking is important for Agnus classes as it recharges their Art Gauges, so Auto-Attack increasing Gems are ideal for Ogres.
