Discover Unexplored Landmarks and Regions

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 -Discovering Unexplored Landmarks and Regions
Discovering unexplored regions or landmarks is the best way to earn SP since you can do this passively while completing other tasks in the game. You can earn more SP by coming across unexplored regions, but they can be much harder to find than landmarks.

Sometimes, you may have to use field skills to find these unexplored regions or landmarks, so recruiting their respective heroes is a must.

Defeat Unique Monsters and Superbosses

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Defeat Unique Monsters

Encountering unique monsters and superbosses and defeating them for the first time rewards the player with SP. However, these monsters are some of the most powerful in the game, so it's best to be prepared before attacking them.

Superbosses Earn You More SP

Both Unique Monsters and Superbosses earn you a significant amount of SP after the battle. However, Superbosses will give you around five times more SP, so it best to defeat those monsters to maximize the SP earned.

Open Containers around the World

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Obtained From Opening Containers
Opening containers you encounter while exploring sometimes reward you with SP. They can be found everywhere, and their location will show on your mini-map, though opening one does not guarantee SP as a reward.

How to Use SP

Advance Your Ouroboros Soul Tree

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Level Up Ouroboros
SP or Spirit Points are used to advance the Soul Tree, giving you different beneficial effects or actions to strengthen your Ouroboros in battle. SP spent for the Soul Tree are not shared across all character, and the points spent will be exclusive to that specific Ouroboros.

Spend Your SP Wisely!

Spend your SP wisely, as any SP you spend for your Soul Tree is permanent and cannot be reset, and there are no confirmed ways of farming large amounts of SP.

How to View the Soul Tree

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - How to View the Soul Tree
You can check your Soul Tree by heading to the Characters Menu from the Main Menu and selecting Interlink. From there, simply select the Soul Tree to open up its menu.

Limited Amount of SP in the Game

There is a finite amount of SP you can possibly collect in the game. If you notice, all the farming methods mentioned above have an end goal. You will eventually run out of containers, landmarks, quests, and other SP sources, which makes sense since there is also only a limited number of skills in the trees.
