Class Rating is the speed at which each character ranks up an individual class, so the lower their Class Rating, the slower it takes for them to rank up the class.
Machine Assassin is the default class of Segiri, a hero in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. To unlock this class and equip it to your main characters, you must first complete their Hero Quest: Inhumanity.
After you unlock this class, it will have a rank cap of 10, so you are unable to upgrade its Arts and skills further than that rank. To break the rank cap and extend the limit up to Rank 20, you must first complete the quest Invisible Bond.

Characters with high Attack that also make excellent Support characters like Sena and Eunie are best for Machine Assassins. Having decently high Dexterity is also a preferred attribute as it allows them to land more of their attacks.

The Machine Assassin class focuses on inflicting debuffs on your enemies to increase your damage and to aid your allies in taking them down. The more debuffs you can inflict on more enemies, the better.
For recommended Combat Arts, Terror Onslaught is the preferred debuff-inflicting Art while Havoc Slayer can spread it around to all enemies in the area. Fatal Bite is a strong attack which you can use to inflict the most damage to enemies.

Since Machine Assassins excel at inflicting and spreading debuffs on enemies, the best Master Arts add more debuff-inflicting Arts to their arsenal. Maximum Voltage is also recommended to increase your damage and ensure that your enemies do not block your debuffs.

Though the Talent Art of this class already excels at inflicting debuffs on your opponents, the debuffs inflicted are random. If you would rather inflict a specific debuff on enemies, Damage Link from Sword of Valor or Blaze from Emyrean Salvo work best.

It is recommended to keep most of the Rank 5 Master Skills listed above since they work best for the class. However, Covert Attack is a Rank 15 Master Skill that can replace one of the skills above in order to help reduce aggro.

Pre-charging your Master Arts is recommended to get some early debuffs on your opponent while they are unprepared. We recommend positioning your character to the side or rear of the enemy to make the most of their Arts, so an accessory that increases certain Positional damage is also ideal.

Machine Assassins rely on debuffing their opponents to deal the most amount of damage and assist the rest of the team. Gems that increase the effectiveness of these debuffs are best for this class, and a boost in Attack is never a bad choice for Attackers.
