How to Unlock Yumsmith

Recruit Riku ＆ Manana by Completing Their Hero Quest

Yumsmith is the default class of Riku & Manana, a hero in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. To unlock this class and equip it to your main characters, you must first complete their Hero Quest: A Nopon's Counsel.

After you unlock this class, it will have a rank cap of 10, so you are unable to upgrade its Arts and skills further than that rank. To break the rank cap and extend the limit up to Rank 20, you must first complete the quest Culinary Repertoire.

Yumsmith is primarily an Attacker class that acts as support for the team by using buffs, debuffs, and other Art effects to incapacitate and hinder opponents. Characters high in Attacking stats like Noah and Sena are best for this class.

Yumsmith's skills make it an excellent party member to inflict different debuffs on your opponent, including field effects. Though Recharge would also be a useful Art, it cannot be equipped alongside Energy Grenade, which is the more recommended Art.

Since Yumsmiths excel at inflicting debuffs, it is best to use Master Arts that inflict useful debuffs on your opponents. Field Arts are also a good option if you decide to focus your character more on setting up field effects.

Instead of equipping Sword of Valor, which inflicts Damage Link on enemies, you can also equip Viral Vector as an alternative Talent Art for the Yumsmith class. Though the debuffs inflicted are random, there is a good chance that it is a debuff that will help you out in combat.

Cursed Edge is the best Master Skill for Yumsmiths since most of the enemies they attack will likely have debuffs. Since the Yumsmith class can make full use of both Ether and Physical Attacks, increasing the damage of both Art types with Master Skills is also best.

Once you have Rank 15 Master Skills unlocked for Medic Gunner, you can also equip Eternal Formation to extend the duration of Blaze caused by Energy Grenade, one of the best Arts in the class, or other field effects you may have equipped.

The Steam Belt is an amazing accessory for any Attacker class, since it increases overall attack damage. In addition, the Yumsmith class also benefits from having high Dexterity so that they could reliably hit opponents and inflict the necessary debuffs.

As previously mentioned, Energy Grenade is one of the best Arts in the class due to its continuous Blaze damage. The Hellfire Amulet can be used to boost its damage further.
