If you want to start crafting gems for your character, you want to head to a rest spot near you. Once you're there, simply interact with the Rest Spot and choose Craft Gems to start crafting.
Aside from rest spots, players can craft gems inside their ship in the Cadensia Region. This will save you time from skip traveling to a rest spot.
Before you start crafting, select which gem you want to create first. Each gem can have several beneficial effects, ranging from improving stats to extending buff durations. They're also divided into four parts denoted by their color, with each gem and its effect corresponding to a class' role.
You can also choose the gem's level from 1 to 10 to improve its overall performance. Be sure to check them all out before you decide what you want to craft!
Once you've decided the type and level of the gem you want to get, you need to gather the items required for it and the Ether Cylinder to start crafting.
If all the requirements are met, simply hold the A button to craft the gem with the required materials.
If you don't want to go through the hassle of finding every item you need to craft the gem, you can always spend your Golden Nopon coin to do it instead by holding the Y button. However, as the level of the gem increases, so does the cost.
Avoid using gold nopon coins for anything below level 10 for crafting gems to make the most out of your gold nopon coins.
Gem Level | Golden Coin Cost |
---|---|
I | 1 |
II | 4 |
III | 8 |
IV | 14 |
V | 20 |
VI | 28 |
VII | 40 |
VIII | 55 |
IX | 75 |
X | 99 |
It's very important to know that crafted gems are shared across all characters. This makes it so that you don't have to craft the same gem multiple times and waste your resources, as your characters can equip the same gem individually.
Gem Crafting is unlocked after completing the Standard Quest, Riku and Manana, during the events of Chapter 2 at the Lake Rezzento Camp.
