You will start your journey as one of the soldiers named Noah, along with Eunie and Lanz of Keves, a nation where mechanical technology is used for everything, as opposed to the nation they're at war with—Agnus, which is a nation that utilizes magical technology.

As you progress through the game, you will be introduced to Mio, Taion, and Sena, soldiers from the opposing nation, where you will soon be working together to stop the cycle of violence between both nations as you unravel the truth behind the war.

As seen in the Direct trailer, the energy of those who are killed in battle are collected and turned into energy, as one of the antagonists is seen to be powered by absorbing the soldiers around him.
