Registering Collectopaedia Cards

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Registering Collectopaedia Cards

Registering collectopedia cards allows you to repeatedly raise your affinity level, as long as you have the items or coins for it. Rewards vary between the first and second time you register. Make sure that the collectopedia card you're registering is from the colony you want to raise.

You can view the collectepedia cards you can register by heading to the Quests Menu from the Main Menu.

When finishing a quest from an NPC associated with a colony, they may raise your affinity for that colony as a reward. You can also receive quests from information gathered in a colony, so take advantage of this if you want to raise their affinity level.

Talking to People Inside the Colony

Talking to people marked with a star inside a colony will raise the affinity level for that colony. The time of day also affects the appearance of NPCs roaming around the colony, so be sure to check at different times of day to be able to talk to everyone.

You can adjust your game time by heading to the System Menu from the Main Menu and selecting Change Time.

Helping The Colony in Skirmishes

Helping the colony fight off enemies during skirmishes will raise your affinity level for them. However, most of the time, it is not guaranteed that you'll get affinity points, but you'll instead receive Nopon Coins used for crafting gems, cooking meals, and unlocking classes.

Raising the affinity level of a colony rewards the player with different bonuses depending on the affinity level they reach. Bonuses received are available up to a maximum of 5 for each colony, going up to 5 levels.

Colony Must be Liberated First

To be able to raise a colony's affinity level, you must first destroy the Flame Clock of a colony and liberate its people. To liberate a colony, simply proceed through the story quest.
