List of Contents
The Flame Clock is an early-game mechanic that modifies your character stats based on how filled up the gauge is. If the Flame Clock gauge dips too low, players will suffer stat penalties, lowering their overall damage while out exploring.
To refill the Flame Clock gauge, kill any and all monsters you encounter throughout the world of Aionios. Each kill will help fill out the gauge, albeit in a very slow fashion.
At the end of Chapter 1, the Flame Clock mechanic will be removed from the game. Once Noah and Mio realize their Ouroboros Form, they (and their party members) will be liberated from the Flame Clock mechanic.
After crossing this point of the story, players will no longer need to worry about killing monsters and keeping the Flame Clock topped up.
After you complete Chapter 2 and defeat your first Consul, the Flame Clock will be replaced by the Colony Affinity Meter which measures your relationship with a given Colony. The higher your affinity with a colony, the more Exploration Bonuses you receive while out adventuring.
Do note that the Colony Affinity Meter will only replace the Flame Clock once you have liberated the colony and destroyed their Flame Clock. Prior to this, entering the vicinity of an unliberated colony will display their respective Flame Clock.
To liberate a colony, complete Chapter 3 and start look for Hero Quests on the map. These special quests are tied to freeing the different Colonies scattered throughout Aionios.
