Help Kyrie at Alfeto Valley

This quest can be unlocked as soon as Ethel leaves your party in Chapter 3. Otherwise, you can do it at a later time.

To start the quest, head to Alfeto Valley and help Kyrie. Defeat the enemy that's attacking her.

Go to Colony Gamma and Gather Information

After rescuing Kyrie, head north towards Colony Gamma. You can skip travel to the nearest landmark, like Loch Ciel, to get to Colony Gamma quicker.

Once there, talk to the three NPCs marked on the map to get the 'Colony Gamma Lately' discussion topic. Discuss the topic at a rest spot afterwards.

Talk to Teach and Head to the 'Good Place'

Talk to Teach at the Commander's Office and learn about the 'Good Place'. This area will be marked on your map afterwards so head there.

A steep slope will prevent your party from reaching the 'Good Place' but Teach will teach you the skill 'Scree Walking' - a traversal skill that will let you move up certain slopes without sliding down. With this, you can climb up the slope to reach the other side.

Defeat Teach and Moebius G

You'll have to fight Teach upon reaching Transcendent Retreat. Defeat him and brace yourself for another battle - a Lv. 27 Moebius G.

Return to Colony Gamma

After defeating Moebius G, return to Colony Gamma to complete the quest. Teach will then join your party and the Thaumaturge class will be unlocked for Mio. The topic 'A Request from Teach' will be unlocked as well.
