What Does Cleaning Clothes Do?

Resets Character Model to Have Clean Clothes

While out adventuring in the lands of Aionios, your party's character models will slowly start accumulating dust and grime. Cleaning their clothes at a Rest Spot gets rid of the dirt, giving your party members clean clothes before resuming travel.

Do note, this feature is entirely for immersion purposes. Whether clean or grimy, the story and gameplay of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will not be directly affected by this mechanic.

How to Clean Equipment

Use Colony Rest Spots or Rest Spots in the Open World

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Clean Clothes Option

Colony Rest Spots like the Barracks in Colony 4 and Rest Spots in the open world will have the feature, Clean Clothes when you interact with them. Simply pick this option to wash off the dirt on your party's equipment.

What Are Rest Spots? | Rest Spots Feature

Canteen Rest Spots do not Have the Option to Clean Clothes

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - Canteen Rest Spot

Do note that not all Rest Spots will have the option to Clean Clothes. Canteen Rest Spots, which are also found inside Colonies, will not feature this mechanic when you sit down for a meal or discussion.
