How to Unlock Lone Exile

Recruit Ashera by Completing Their Hero Quest

Lone Exile is the default class of Ashera, a hero in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. To unlock this class and equip it to your main characters, you must first complete their Hero Quest: The Wrath of Ashera.

Complete A Deep-Seated Scar to Unlock Rank 20

After you unlock this class, it will have a rank cap of 10, so you are unable to upgrade its Arts and skills further than that rank. To break the rank cap and extend the limit up to Rank 20, you must first complete the quest A Deep-Seated Scar.

Best Lone Exile Characters

Recommended Characters
LanzLanz SenaSena

As a mixed Defender and Attacker, the Lone Exile class is best used on characters that have both high Defensive and Attacking stats like Lanz and Sena. However, due to Sena's low Class Rating, it may take a while to unlock and rank up the class for her.

Best Lone Exile Arts

Recommended Combat Arts

Art Attack Type AoE Base Effect
Demon SlayerDemon Slayer Physical Attack One Target Boosts aggro generated when using Art by 50%.
Gale SlashGale Slash Physical Attack Frontward AOE Boosts damage dealt when attacking enemies targeting you by 50%.
Jaws of DeathJaws of Death Stance Self Boosts damage dealt by 30% and aggro drawn when attacking by 25%.

The Lone Exile Class needs to have both offense and defense-focused Arts in order to effectively fulfill their role in the team. Arts like those above can be used to increase enemy aggro or boost the damage inflicted by the character, both of which are ideal for Lone Exile builds.

Mighty BeatMighty Beat AOE / High aggro / Smash

Defensive Master Arts that lure enemies to the character and maintain their aggro are best for Lone Exiles. Mighty Beat is an especially great art to use due to its high aggro and area of effect damage.

Though Flamelord is an Attacker Art, it also works well since Lone Exiles, as Defenders, are often in the front lines of the battle.

Rank 20 Master Arts

Art Base Effect Class Rank
Gemini StrikeGemini Strike High Aggro / Evade
Rank 20

Though Lone Exile has an amazing Talent Art that even works well with most other Defenders, Gemini Strike makes a good alternative due to the guaranteed evasion. However, keeping its default Talent Art is still recommended.
