Kilocorn Grandeps Boss Guide |
---|
Kilocorn Grandeps can let out a powerful breath attack while targeting one of your allies. This will continuously hit a large area in front of it and can possibly take out a full health, non-Defender unit. Since your Defenders will most likely draw aggro and become the focus of this attack, stay on the boss' blindspots.
Once the boss' HP drops below the threshold, it will enter an enraged state that will make its attacks hit much harder. Be sure to equip Arts needed for a Burst Combo and aim for a Burst to return its stats to normal. This weakening effect will expire eventually, so prepare to do another Burst when Kilocorn Grandeps becomes enraged again.
If your party have Arts with Launch, remember that you can change your team's combo tactic (by holding ZL) to the Burst Combo so they will prioritize following a Topple with Daze and Burst, instead of Launch and Smash.
Keep canceling Arts, performing role actions, and executing combos so you can use Chain Attacks more frequently. Superbosses like Kilocorn Grandeps have massive health pools that can be hard to drain by just using Arts.
Unleash Chain Attacks as much as you can and try to rack up damage multipliers and complete Ouroboros Orders to deal tons of damage. Remember that you can also safely heal your allies during Chain Attacks without worrying about Art cooldowns!
Chain Attack Guide: How to Do a Chain Attack
If you have downed allies, it would be better to wait for your Healers to revive them before starting a Chain Attack. The more party members available during Chain Attacks, the more orders you can complete and the stronger each attack will get due to the increasing multipliers.

Switch Noah to an Incursor and take control of him as the main attacker. Since you need to stay away from the Defenders to avoid Kilocorn Grandeps' breath attack, your positional Arts should be for the side or the back of the target. Start with Cross Impact to gain Power Charge and then cancel it to your other Arts, preferably a side Fatal Bite.
Don't forget to use your buff skills to increase your damage output, especially Shadow Eye if you start drawing more aggro.
Try to start a Smash or a Burst combo by going around the sides and using Glitter Stream to inflict Break. Since it's an Agnian Art, it can be easily recharged by the Steady Striker gem. You can also increase Noah's critical rate and attack damage by attacking Kilocorn Grandeps while in a Launched state, so try to maximize its duration before any of your allies performs a Smash.
Member/Class | Role |
---|---|
Mio
|
・Can be both a Healer and a damage dealer |
Eunie
|
・Main Healer ・Vital Bullet is useful for when the boss performs a powerful AoE attack while other healing Arts are on cooldown |
Taion
|
・Draw more aggro with Taunt Pulse ・Can use Mighty Beat to complete a Smash combo |
Lanz
|
・Can switch aggro with your Lost Vanguard ・Deals decent damage ・Launch target with Soaring Tempest |
Sena
|
・Helps your Incursor in dealing damage ・Inflict Topple with Starfall ・Reduces the boss' Block Rate with the Essence of Ether Skill |
Fiona
|
・Provides buffs for the whole team ・Recharges Chain Attack gauge using Chain Order ・Can help on reviving downed allies |
You're gonna need to have your Healers revive allies faster and with more health as Kilocorn Grandeps frequently uses powerful AoE attacks. Give both Mio and Eunie Lifegiving Expertise X and Soothing Breath X so they can get your team back up faster.
Be sure that your team can complete both Smash (Break > Topple > Launch > Smash) and Burst (Break > Topple > Daze > Burst) combos using their Class Arts and Master Arts.
The Troubadour's Way Home Art is the only Master Art with the Burst effect that you can use if you follow this party setup, but you can also use Mio's Dominion Flower unique Talent Art or Taion's Lurking Spider Ouroboros Art for completing Burst combos.
