The Black Marketeer can be defeated repeatedly in order to farm Gold Coins and Gold Keys in Palworld. Check out this guide for the glitches and exploits you can use to easily defeat the Black Marketeer without taking damage, to respawn the Black Marketeer, and other information.

Black Marketeer Glitch Gold Farming Methods

Black Marketeer Glitch Overview

There are a few exploits and glitches you can use in order to easily farm gold from the Black Marketeer, but the goal of each is the same: defeat the Black Marketeer without taking damage.

Normally, the Black Marketeer is an NPC you can talk to in order to buy and sell Pals (and humans). However, once you attack the Black Marketeer, he becomes an aggressive, high-level opponent with a strong Pal by his side.

Defeating the Black Marketeer yields a lot of Gold Coins as well as Gold Keys. He's also easily farmable because he automatically respawns if you return to the title screen and re-enter your world or if you fast travel away and come back.

Steps
1. Craft a Hanging Trap. 2. Place the Hanging Trap as close to the Black Marketeer as possible. 3. Once trapped, attack the Black Marketeer. 4. Place a campfire below the Black Marketeer, and wait until he's defeated. 5. Disassemble your trap before resetting.

1. Craft a Hanging Trap

Using a Hanging Trap is the easiest method for lower level players and those who aren't confident with timing-based exploits.

The Hanging Trap can be unlocked from the Technology tab at level 4 and requires only a bit of Wood and Stone. Make sure that you have these materials in your inventory.

No need to use a workbench to craft this item. It should be available under the Defense tab in the Build menu.

2. Place the Hanging Trap Near the Black Marketeer

When placing your trap, try to make sure that the circle at the base of the trap overlaps with a part of the Black Marketeer. Setting it up from the side should make it a bit easier.

If you miss the Black Marketeer, simply dismantle your trap and try again. He won't mind that you tried and failed to trap him, and you won't lose any resources.

3. Once Trapped, Attack the Black Marketeer

Once he's been trapped, attack him with either a weapon or a Pal or both. If you want to catch him, try using a Legendary Sphere. Otherwise, attack him until he's been defeated.

4. Place a Campfire Below the Black Marketeer

For a hands-free, durability-saving way of defeating the Black Marketeer caught in your Hanging Trap, you can build a Campfire right below him. Make sure that the fire is at least partially inside the circle at the base of the trap.

If done right, the Black Marketeer should catch fire and burn until he's defeated. Make sure that you hit him with a weapon at least once in order to get his drops.

This isn't the fastest (or most ethical) method if you have strong Pals or weapons, but it gets the job done without too much hassle. This also might be the easiest method to use if you're at a low level.

5. Disassemble Your Trap Before Resetting

Because of all the overlapping pieces working for this trap, having the Black Marketeer respawn may make your Hanging Trap disappear. So that you don't run out of Wood and Stone in your inventory if you're planning on doing this multiple times, disassemble both the Hanging Trap and the Campfire before you leave.

Then, once you're ready you can either return to the title screen and re-enter your world, fast travel to a faraway location before returning, or press the Respawn button to perish and quickly fast travel (only recommended if death penalties are off).

Pal Attacking From Behind Freezing Glitch
Best For	Players with strong Pals

Steps
1. Command your Pals to attack aggressively. 2. Send out your Pal behind the Black Marketeer. 3. Talk to the Black Marketeer as your Pal attacks. 4. While he's frozen, attack the Black Marketeer until he's defeated. 5. Fast Travel, Respawn, or Return to Title to revive the Black Marketeer.

This Black Marketeer glitch is a much faster method for those with strong Pals. However, it's a bit harder to pull off.

1. Command Your Pals to Attack Aggressively

Open your command wheel by pressing the 4 key on a keyboard or the right stick on an Xbox controller. Select Command Attack Aggressively

This will make your Pal attack the Black Marketeer once it is sent out.

2. Send Out Your Pal Behind the Black Marketeer

Aim for a spot behind the Black Marketeer that also isn't too close. It doesn't have to be directly behind him, but your Pal can't be in front of him since you need to talk to him. Make sure your Pal has enough space to move and attack.

3. Talk to the Black Marketeer as Your Pal Attacks

You should be able to see your Pal take up an aggressive stance. Once you see it readying its attack, talk to the Black Marketeer.

Make sure that you've started talking to the Black Marketeer before your Pal hits him with its attack to prevent the Black Marketeer from becoming hostile. If the Black Marketeer takes out his weapon, but the Talk option is still available, talk to him again while you're Pal is still attacking. This can still make him freeze.

4. While He's Frozen, Attack the Black Marketeer

If you time it right, the Black Marketeer should be unable to move, allowing you and your Pals to attack him without fear of getting hurt. From here, you can wait until your Pal defeats him or lend a hand and attack him with your weapon.

If this glitch doesn't work, get out of there immediately! Once attacked, the Black Marketeer will not hesitate to retaliate with his strong weapon and Pal. You can return to the title screen or run away on a fast mount Pal.

5. Fast Travel, Respawn, or Return to Title to Revive the Black Marketeer

Once you defeat the Black Marketeer, you'll want him to respawn if you want to farm his drops. The fastest way to do this is to return to the title screen and then re-enter your world. The Black Marketeer should be at his original spot with full HP and no memory of how you killed him.

However, if you are playing in multiplayer and cannot leave that way, you can instead fast travel away from the area. If you're playing on Casual mode, you can also press the Respawn button to quickly allow you to fast travel. This does activate any death penalties you have for your world, which is why it's only recommended for those playing on Casual or a Custom setting with no death penalties.

1. Equip a melee weapon or a bow. 2. Talk to the Black Marketeer, and press the attack button immediately. 3. Repeat this process until the Black Marketeer is defeated. 4. Fast Travel, Respawn, or Return to Title to revive the Black Marketeer.

This glitch is the most straightforward one, and it's easier to get right compared to the Pal method. However, those who only have weak, low-leveled weapons may find it tedious. This is best used for those with a powerful weapon.

This glitch only appears to work with melee weapons and bows. Guns and crossbows seem to have trouble triggering this glitch.

The most recommended weapon to use is the Sword, which you can unlock at level 44. If you don't have access to this yet, a Refined Metal Spear could also work. Anything weaker may not be a good idea for this farming method.

You may also be interested in using either a Fire Bow or Poison Bow in order to inflict a status condition onto the Black Marketeer that can help eat at his HP. A Torch can also work in a pinch.

2. Talk to the Black Marketeer and Press the Attack Button

You'll want to press the Talk button and then immediately hit the Attack button, doing both actions almost simultaneously. Make sure to press the Talk button first so that the Black Marketeer doesn't become hostile.

If you're using bows, aim with your bow before talking to the Black Marketeer. Once you press the Talk button, immediately release your arrow.

3. Repeat This Process Until the Black Marketeer is Defeated

Once you've got the timing down, keep it up until you've defeated the Black Marketeer.

If you happen to slip up and make the Black Marketeer hostile towards you, you can send out a Pal to help you defeat him, or if you're not strong enough for that, you can run away and try again.

4. Fast Travel, Respawn, or Return to Title to Revive the Black Marketeer

Whether you're running away from a failed attempt or trying to revive the Black Marketeer from a successful attempt, you can either go to the title screen and re-enter your world, fast travel to a faraway location before coming back, or perish and respawn at a fast travel point.

Returning to the title screen is the fastest method, but it may not be convenient if you're playing with other people. Pressing the Respawn button on the menu is only recommended if you're playing with death penalties off. Fast traveling is the more universally useful method.

This glitch quickly respawns a specific Black Marketeer without the need to leave the area of restart your game.

This glitch can be used to farm gold and keys by killing the Black Marketeer over and over again.

2	Mount a fast flying pal and follow the path going around the area until you return to the Black Marketeer's spot

Black Marketeers are sometimes found inside mineshafts, so those are good places to check if you're struggling to find their locations.

Defeating a Black Marketeer nets you a lot of Gold Coins as well as Gold Keys. The exact amount of gold you get may differ every time, but you can expect to receive at least 10,000 Gold Coins and a Gold Key for defeating a Black Marketeer on Normal Difficulty. This amount should be doubled on Casual and lessened on Hard.
