A Pal's hidden IV bonus, Passive Skills, and Statue and Condenser upgrades can determine the stats of your Pals as it levels up in Palworld. Read on to learn more about Pal IVs, stat bonuses, and each of your Pal stats!
List of Contents
IVs, or Individual Values, are hidden stats that all Pals have in the game which grant HP, Attack, and Defense stat bonuses when leveling up.
IVs can range from 0 IVs , where the Pal does not have any bonus stats, or up to a maximum of 100 IVs, where the Pal can get a 30% stat bonus.
IVs are determined randomly for Pals and are generally uncontrollable by players, but it can be used when breeding to influence an offspring's IVs.

The table above compares two Level 50 Lamballs which have 0 IVs in HP, Attack, and Defense and one with 100 IV in all of its stats. A Lamball with higher IVs will have higher stats compared to a Lamball with low to zero IVs due to the stat bonuses it has gained upon leveling up.
A Pal's stat is not only affected by its IVs, but also by any Passive Skill it has that affects its Attack or Defense stats.
Pal stats are also affected by Statue or Condenser upgrades, with the former granting up to 30% bonus and the latter giving up to 20% bonus after max upgrades.
How to Train Perfect Pals and Maximize Stats
Some Passive Skills, like Lucky and Legend, also affect a Pal's stats, either positively or negatively. If you want to make the most effective use of your Pals, you should use those that have Passive Skills with stat bonuses instead of those that hinder the Pal.

The table above lists Lamball's possible HP, Attack, and Defense stats at Level 50 with IVs, select Passive Skills, and upgrade bonuses.
Like mentioned before, a Pal with higher IVs will have naturally high stat growth, but this can be further improved if the Pal has Attack or Defense boosting Passive Skills or if it is upgraded via the Statue of Power or with the Pal Essence Condenser.
A Pal's HP, or Vitality as it's called in the game, determines its health pool and how much damage it can take during combat before it is knocked out and is incapacitated.
If a Pal is knocked out, you need to store it back in your Pal Box and wait for them to be revived. You cannot revive Pals with any food or craftable medicine.
Pals in your party will slowly deplete their Hunger meter if they are out in the overworld. If they haven't eaten for a while, they will get the Hungry status and their Attack, Defense, and Work Speed stats will decrease by 20%.
Meanwhile, Pals in your base will feel exhausted and stressed if their Hunger gauge gets depleted, so make sure to keep yourself and your Pals well fed!
If you neglect your Pals long enough and their Hunger meter is depleted, they will get the Starving status, which will lower their Attack, Defense, and Work Speed stats by 50% while taking damage until they only have 1 HP left.
Your Pal's Sanity (SAN), or their Mental Stability as labeled in the game, is tied to how your Pals will function if you leave then inside your base. Pals with low Sanity will get sick or even refuse to work inside your base.
Building Hot Springs in your base and keeping your Pals well fed can help maintain high Sanity for your base Pals.
How to Keep Pals Happy and Sane
A Pal's Attack stat determines how much damage it can deal with its attacks. This can be improved by upgrading the Pal via Statue and Condenser upgrades or with certain Partner Skills.
A Pal's Defense stat decreases the amount of damage it takes when attacked. This can also be improved by upgrading the Pal via Statue and Condenser upgrades or with certain Partner Skills.
Your Pal's Work Speed affects the efficiency of your Pal on their tasks inside your base. Pals with higher Work Speed are better base Pals than those with low stats.
Use our Palworld IV Calculator to calculate the IVs of your Pals Attack, Defense and HP Stats in Palworld!
Our IV Checker will allow you to check the individual value of each of your Pal's Stats with both Passive Skills applied or just the base values to see which of your Pals are the strongest of their species!
