How to Beat Blazamut Ryu Raid Boss: Best Pals, Weapons and Strategy

Blazamut Ryu Partner Skill Effect

Regains Health and Becomes an Electric-Type at 1 HP

Once you bring Blazamut Ryu down to 1 HP, it will start a new phase of the battle. It will then shoot out an Electric attack in all directions, which can paralyze anyone hit. It will then regain nearly 1/3 of its HP and transform into an Electric-type.

Blazamut Ryu will stay as an Electric-type for the remainder of the battle, so make sure to stow away your Water-type Pals so that they don't get knocked out by its Electric-type attacks.

Blazamut Ryu (Ultra)

Besides the regular Blazamut Ryu raid, there's a harder version where you fight Blazamut Ryu (Ultra). This version will have double the health, which is 1,025,360 HP, while still having the same 10-minute timer to defeat it.

Make sure that you're prepared with the best Pals, Equipment, and Consumables that you have so that you can take down this Raid Boss.

How to Start the Blazamut Ryu Raid

Craft a Blazamut Ryu Slab

You will need to craft a Blazamut Ryu's Slab by using four (4) Blazamut Ryu Slab Fragments to initiate a battle with Blazamut Ryu. While it can be challenged at early levels, it is recommended to be at least Level 55 before you challenge Blazamut Ryu.

Where to Find Blazamut Ryu's Slab Fragments

Blazamut Ryu Slab Fragments can only be obtained from Sakurajima Island Dungeons. These caves are extremely hard, so make sure you come prepared with your strongest pals and weapons!

Use The Slab on a Summoning Altar

To initiate any Raid Boss battle, you need to have the Summoning Altar in a base. It can be unlocked in the Technologies Tab once you reach Level 33. Note that the Summoning Altar can only be used once, so have the materials at the ready in a chest nearby.

Ultra Slabs Are Dropped From Blazamut Ryu

If you want to challenge Blazamut Ryu (Ultra), you'll need to get a Blazamut Ryu (Ultra) Slab as a drop from beating both the normal and ultra versions of Blazamut Ryu. If you plan on farming Blazamut Ryu, fighting the Ultra version is a lot quicker, if you can kill it, since you won't have to farm for Slab Fragments inside caves.

You need to have an Azurobe with amazing investment for this build. By attacking while mounted, you can infuse your attacks with the Water-type to quickly whittle down the Raid Boss' Health Bar with Super-Effective attacks!

You can power up this team even further if Azurobe and the Gobfin all have the Vanguard passive.

The best Armor to use in general are the Plasteel Helmet and the Lightweight Plasteel Armor. If you have the Legendary Schematics for other Pal Armor, you can craft those instead. Equipping the Attack Pendant will increase your damage.

Best Weapons and Items to Have for Blazamut Ryu Raid

The best weapons to carry are the Guided Missile Launcher and the Gatling Gun. The former has a faster reload time while the latter has higher damage. If you have the Legendary Schematics for these, make sure to craft those instead.

Meanwhile, the Flamethrower is amazing at helping in whittling down bosses due to how Fire damage scales based on Max HP. While not necessary, having a Melee Weapon like the Sword is also pretty useful.

General Raid Tips

You Cannot Catch the Raid Boss

Similar to Bellanoir, you can't catch Blazamut Ryu by conventional means. If you want one as your Pal, you'll need to defeat it and hatch the Egg you get as a reward for clearing the raid.

How to Hatch Eggs Fast

Build a Base Dedicated to Raids

Building a Base specifically for Raids will be very useful so you don't destroy anyone's Base. Try to find a flat area with structures that you can hide behind to heal or reload your weapons, like at the Desolate Churches.

Summoning Altars Can Only be Used Once

Summoning Altars can only be used once which makes it a chore especially if you have a base dedicated to it. A trick you can do is build storage as close as you can to the Pal Box so you don't have to lug around a lot of materials!

Use Technology Built for Combat

After deciding where to put your base, you can then place structures like the Mounted Machine Guns and Missile Launchers so your weaker Pals can contribute without immediately succumbing to the Raid Boss' onslaught.

Best Technology to Unlock First

Make Use of Burning and Poison Damage

Burning and Poison damage can quickly whittle down any Pal due to its ability to deal damage that scales off the enemies' HP Stat. Meaning, the higher the HP the enemy has, the bigger the damage the status will deal to the Boss!

Play With Friends

Another way to make the Raid easier is to challenge it with other people on your server. This raid is no easy feat to accomplish and having friends will make this easier.
