Night Guide: How to Survive the Night

Palworld - Night Guide How to Survive the Night

Learning to survive the night of Palworld will open you to finding new Pals and more time for exploration. Make the necessary preparations, such crafting tools and finding glowing Pals for venturing into the dark.

Pass the Night with Shoddy Bed

Unlock and Build a Shoddy Bed

Palworld - Wool Material Wool (x1)
• Necessary for passing the night.
• Requires Wooden Structure Set (bed needs to be placed within 3 walls + 1 roof) to be used.

Getting through the night is another challenge you will have to become familiar with when playing Palworld. At night, new Pals appear and the temperature is lower, meaning you will need gear to protect you from the cold.

If you do not plan to venture into the night, you need to unlock and build a Shoddy Bed from the Technology Tree. This will help you pass the night any time you are near sundown or during the night cycle.

Do not forget to bring some food when you go hungry, since it is not any easier to spot some food in the wild you can gather like Red Berries due to the darkness.

At times, you may not always want to be holding your Hand-held Torch. Have a nice companion out in the open such as Foxsparks that can serve as a continuous light source.

Night is the favored active hours of most Dark-type Pals such as Daedream. Some naturally hostile Pals are also present such as Depresso.

Dark Pals are weak to Dragon, so it would be a good idea to bring some Pals that have a Dragon type to ensure you will be doing some super effective damage.

Chillet (Lv. 11 as an Alpha Pal, east of the Rayne Syndicate Tower) and Dinossom (can spawn around Lv. 15± near Plateau of Beginnings) are some of the Dragon Pals that can be found early. However, you will need to spend time levelling up along with your Pals before you can safely take them on and to capture them.

Different Pals are Active at NIght

Palworld - Some Plas are Active at Night

Only certain Pals like Daedream are active at night, and Daedream is one such Pal that is valuable to obtain since its Dark attacks are strong against a lot of Neutral-type Pals commonly appearing during the day.

Another useful Pals to catch that are active at night is Tombat who can start mining Ore thanks to its Lvl. 2 Mining Work Suitability. Make sure to keep a look out for Pals and catch them to fill in your Paldeck.

To know which Pals show up at night, make sure to check their entry's Habitat tab in your Paldeck and switch to its Night view.

More Time for Resource Gathering

Palworld - More Time for Resource Gathering

Being prepared to be out in the open at night will present you more opportunities to explore and gather precious items like Pal Eggs for new potential Pals. You can also use this time continue gathering more hard-to-get resources like Ore.

Pay close attention to your surroundings just in case some hostile Pals or Syndicate Thugs are around to attack you.

Some collectibles like Lifmunk Effigies are easier to spot at night due to their distinct greenish glow. Campfires and Great Eagle Statues will also stand due to their lighting.

Lucky Pals Stand Out More

Palworld - Lucky Pal at Night

While there is no observable change on how often Lucky Pals appear, their signature glow is much easier to spot due to the surrounding darkness.

Therefore, if you are out hunting for Lucky Pals, you can try continuing your search at night!
