How IV Breeding Works

One IV is Always Inherited

Based on our testing, it appears at least one IV will always be inherited from one of the parents. The guaranteed stat is random, and there doesn't seem to be a way to influence which parent the IV will pass down from.

From a total of 107 breeding samples, we counted the number of IVs inherited from each parent and counted those that didn't share any parents' IVs for that stat as random.

We found that the child Pals can inherit the other stats in addition to the guaranteed stat. There's around a 30% chance of inheriting an IV from a specific parent and around a 40% chance for the IV to be random. This means child Pals can get all their IVs solely from the parents.

How to Breed High IV Pals

1. Select Parents with the Highest IV
2. Put the Parents in the Breeding Ranch
3. Level the New Pals with High Stats Up

The Parent's IV is one of the stats the Pal child can inherit alongside Passive Skills when breeding. Due to the way IV breeding works, selecting parents with the highest IV possible gives you a better chance of breeding a powerful Pal.

If you're aiming to hatch Pals with good stats, it is essential to have the Pal parents have high stats so their offspring has the chance to also inherit their high stats.

Choose the Right Parent Combination for Desired Pal

Most Pals have various parent combinations. However, some, such as the Legendary Pals or breeding-exclusive Pals, can only be bred with parents of the same Pal species or a specific combination of Pals.

Check the Parent's Base Stats and Level to Determine IV

There are no direct methods to see a Pal's IV. However, you can compare the base stats of similarly leveled Pals and determine which Pals have better IVs by checking which ones have higher stats, excluding bonuses from Passive Skills.

Put the Parents in the Breeding Farm

Put the Parents in the Breeding Farm and put Cakes in the Breeding Farm's chest to start the breeding process. After some time, incubate the eggs in the Egg Incubator to have them hatch.

Level the New Pals with High Stats Up

With the newly hatched eggs, it may already be apparent that all these level 1 Pals have varying stats. These differences in stats, however, will vary much more at higher levels and will help accurately determine your Pal's IVs.

Since the IV differences are more difficult to determine at lower levels as the stat ranges are smaller, grab the Pals with the higher stats and level them up to around level 30 to get more accurate information regarding your Pal's IV as the stat differences become more apparent at higher levels.

Hover Over a Stat to Check Base Stats

Select a Pal and use the View Details button to check the Pal's base stats. Afterward, you can hover over its stats to see its base stats, the stats bonuses, and its current stats with all the bonuses active. By default, the menu always shows the final stats with all the bonuses from the Pal's Passive Skills, other Pal's Passive Skills stat bonuses, or buffs from Food items.

It is better to have the Pals leveled up for an accurate estimation of a Pal's IV. As seen in the example above, the two level 1 Mozzarinas have a 1-point attack difference at level 1, but this difference grew once they reached level 32 into a 19-point attack difference.

Comparing stats between max-level Pals is, therefore, the most accurate way to check for IVs.

What are IVs?

Stat that Gives up to 30% Bonus HP, Atk, or Def

These two Relaxaursus Lux have different HP, Attack, and Defense values despite them having the same level and similar Passive Skills.

Individual Values, or IV, are hidden stats that influence how much HP, Attack, or Defense a Pal has before any bonuses from Passive Skills. This stat bonus from IVs can range from 0% to up to a 30% bonus to a Pal's stats.

Hidden Stat Which Cannot be Viewed In-Game

Each Pal has an IV each for the HP, Attack, and Defense stats. This hidden IV stat, however, cannot be seen in-game. The best way to check IVs in-game would be to compare the stats of similar leveled Pals. A Pal with the higher base stat would have better IVs.

How to Check IV or Individual Value

Alpha Pals Tend to Have Better IVs

Alpha Pals, such as field bosses, Alpha Pals at the end of Dungeons, or Legendary Pals, tend to have higher IVs than regular Pals. This makes Alpha Pals great candidates as parents for IV breeding.
