There is currently a bug in Palworld that can cause pals to continuously chop trees without producing wood. Learn how to avoid the bug and alternative ways to produce wood.

Pals Chop Trees Without Producing Wood
There is currently a bug where Pals in your base who are chopping trees are not producing any wood. Normally, when a pal chops a tree, pieces of wood will spawn for other pals to pick up and carry to nearby storage structures.
The trees also do not get chopped down despite damage numbers appearing, so the assigned pals will be stuck in the unproductive task.
Only Affects Pals at Your Base
The bug seems to only affect pals in your base. Pals from your party can still chop wood from trees when sent out. You can also still chop wood yourself with no issues.

How to Fix Pals Logging Bug
Fixed in Version 0.1.4.1
This bug appears to have been fixed in the Version 0.1.4.1 update for Steam (0.1.1.4 on Xbox). Trees should now be felled once they run out of wood, freeing your Pals from wasting time on a barren tree.

Move Your Palbox
One way to prevent your pals from getting stuck with perpetually chopping a tree is to move your palbox in a way that it doesn't cover any trees. With how tight most areas are in the game, this may require you to move your entire base to a location that's more open and empty.
