This is a guide on how to get a Gun early on after you've created your world in Palworld. Read on to learn how to craft a Gun early, where you can buy one, and which early-game Pals can use a Gun.
List of Contents
While exploring the world, you will come across chests with multiple different goodies and items inside. Sometimes these chests will contain schematics for equipment like Guns.
Once you get one of these schematics, all you need to do is build your Gun at the appropriate workbench and get it once it is finished crafting.
Chest Locations |
---|
Chests found at this location have a good chance of dropping a Handgun Schematic. To get to this island, you will need a Pal that can fly and mount, such as Nitewing, to get over the ocean and reach the island.
Do note that some of these chests are locked and will need a Copper Key to open.
Fisherman's Point Waypoint |
---|
When you travel to Fisherman's Point, you will encounter a lot of NPCs in this town. One of these NPC is a Green Wandering Merchant that will sell you a Makeshift Handgun that you can use right away. He will also sell you ammunition that you can use for this gun.
The only thing is that it is rather pricey at 16,600 Gold, so you will need to beat a lot of syndicate members to farm for this gold.

Some Pals have a Partner Skill that either allows them to use Guns or turn themselves into Guns. This is a great way to get a Gun early without needing to worry about ammo when using a Gun yourself.
The main downsides to this however are that it will be locked behind a cooldown and that you aren't aiming and shooting a gun yourself.
To use your Pals' Partner Skill, you'll need to first unlock their respective Pal Gear in the Technology Tree. Once they've been unlocked, you'll be able to craft them at a Pal Gear Workbench to unlock the ability to use their Partner Skill.
You Unlock your first gun, the Musket at Level 21. This is a very powerful ranged weapon with a whopping 600 Attack, but it takes forever to reload.
To use this you will need to craft the Musket, Gun Powder and Coarse Ammo, but it's well worth it!
Weapon | Materials |
---|---|
Musket |
Wood x30
Ingot x25
|
Required Level | Lv. 21 |
Technology Points | 3 |
Crafting Workbenches |
The Musket requires the materials listed above. You'll also need to unlock the Technology tied to the weapon by raising your Level and using up Technology or Ancient Technology Points. Make sure to have one of the Crafting Workbenches listed above to craft it.
Once you've craft a Musket, you no longer have to make another one. However, if it gets damaged or broken, you'll need a portion of the materials to repair it.

Like Arrows for Bows and Crossbows, you will not be able to use the Musket without Coarse Ammo. Make sure to stock up on a lot of these if you plan on using the Musket often.
How to Get Ingot: All Recipes and Effects
While Gunpowder isn't used when firing the Musket, it's still an essential material as it is needed to craft Coarse Ammo.
