Super Effective moves deal the highest damage possible to Pals that have weak Resistance against it in Palworld. Read on for more information about Super Effective moves, and how Resistance Mechanics work.
A move only becomes Super Effective when used on a Pal that has very weak resistance against the move.
Following the game's elemental chart, using an Electric type move on a Water type Pal like Teafant will become Super Effective due to Water types having weak resistance against Electric types.
Type 1 | Type 2 | Damage Output |
---|---|---|
Strong | Strong | 4x |
Strong | Weak | 1x |
Weak | Weak | 0.25x |
Pals with dual typing (specifically Ice/Grass against Fire) are able to take 4x damage. A great example would be Pals like Pengullet and Penking which are Ice/Water types, and Fire is super effective against Ice but not very effective against Water so it cancels out (1x)!
To get a specific set of skills, you can either get them from farming Skill Fruits, or through Breeding, and leveling up.
You can also utilize Partner Skills that change your element type attacks by setting any of the Pals on this list as your active Pal.
Some of them may also boost your attack power when mounted.
All Element Type Changing Partner Skills
Chart Symbol | Effectiveness |
---|---|
Super Effective The attacker deals twice as much damage to the defending Pal. |
|
Not Very Effective The attacker deals half as much damage to the defending Pal. |
|
No Symbol | Regular Damage The attacker deals the regular amount of damage to the defending Pal. |
To battle efficiently, you must familiarize yourself with Elemental Type Matchups to make sure you're dealing at least 2x or 4x damage against the Pal you're facing.

Take note that some Pal Types are resistant to their own typing instead of dealing normal damage. For a solid example, Fire type Pals are resistant to Fire type moves, Ice type Pals are resistant to Ice type moves and so on.
A special case regarding Resistance would be Neutral Type Pals using Neutral type moves against other Neutral Type Pals.
We have tested and confirmed that using Neutral type moves against other Neutral Type pals do not get resisted, and instead deals normal damage like it's a different typing.
List of Neutral Element Type Pals
A Pal is resistant to attacks when greyed out damage numbers appear after getting hit by a move. This happens often if your Pal is fighting a Pal that has the same element, or same element type moves.
