How to Find Treasure Maps
Dropped by Chests in Enemy Settlements

Treasure Maps are rarely dropped by chests found in enemy settlements. These enemy base camps can be seen around the map as large structures similar to a player's own base.
We recommend using a Flying Mount Pal to locate these camps more easily.

What are Treasure Maps?
New Item for Loot
Treasure Maps are Consumable items that can be used to find buried treasure around the map. Use the item to get treasure, including potential schematics for weapons and armor.
Added in Tides of Terraria Update
The Treasure Map item was added in the Tides of Terraria update alongside the enemy base revamp. This update makes the world feel more alive, with enemy NPCs having more presence and affiliation with their respective factions.

How to Use Treasure Maps

1. Consume the Item 2. Look for a Shovel Icon on the Map 3. Dig Up Treasure |
1. Consume the Item
The Treasure Map item can be consumed through the Inventory menu. Select the item and hit confirm when a prompt asks if you want to use the item.
2. Look for a Shovel Icon on the Map
Once you consume the item, a Shovel icon will appear on the map. It will also show on the compass on your screen to indicate which direction and how far it is from your location.
3. Dig Up Treasure
On the map, you will see a light beacon where the buried treasure is located. Go to the beacon and dig. Upon completion, you will receive all items in your inventory.
