Although it has one of the earliest saddles you can unlock, Direhowl is actually one of the fastest ground mounts in Palworld.

The other mounts on this list are also some of the fastest ground mounts that also offer helpful abilities such as being able to double jump (or triple jump in Paladius's case). Paladius and Necromus are the best and fastest ground mounts to use once you are at a high enough level to unlock their Pal gear.

Jetragon is the fastest mount in the game, beating all mount Pals in all other categories. It is a Legendary Pal, however, so it may take some time and effort to get. Its Pal gear is also only unlockable at level 50, the current maximum level.

Nitewing and Vanwyrm are some of the easiest flying mounts to get early on. They're not very fast, but they can help you travel to faraway and hard-to-reach places. Beakon, Ragnahawk, and Frostallion are great flying mount upgrades to these early game mounts while you still don't have access to Jetragon.

Azurobe is the fastest of all these swimming mounts and infuses your attacks with the Water Element, so it works as an excellent swimming mount even in the late game. It is also smaller than Jormuntide, making it easier to navigate through narrower bodies of water.

Galeclaw has the fastest glide speed, and it lets you use ranged weapons while gliding. However, it also has a fast falling speed, which may make it harder to use than other gliders.

Celaray is another fast glider, but it's not quite as fast as Galeclaw, allowing for more control. Killamari decreases stamina consumption and allows you to fall more gently, which is valuable especially early on. Hangyu and Hangyu Cryst both shoot you up high when used, allowing you to reach higher places without a flying mount.

Glider Pals can be used to glide safely from a higher location to a lower one. They tend to comsume less stamina than a regular glider and will automatically replace any glider you have equipped.

How to Get Mount Pals

Capture Pals

The first thing you have to do is to catch the Pal you want to ride. Consult the list above to make sure that the Pal you're eyeing is ridable.

Some of the best mount Pals are Legendary Pals that are rare and hard to get. You may want to craft higher quality Pal Spheres, ideally the Legendary Sphere, before trying to catch these Legendary Pals.

How to Catch Pals

Buy From Pal Merchant or Black Marketeer

If you're having trouble catching your desired mount Pal in the wild, you can try talking to the various Pal Merchants or Black Marketeers scattered throughout the map to see if they have the Pal you want in stock.

Rarer Pals tend to be more expensive, so stock up on some Gold if you're aiming for a rare mount Pal.

Breed Pals

Another way to get Pals is to breed them by setting up a Breeding Farm and leaving one male and one female Pal. You also need to make a Cake in order for your Pals to breed.

Craft Pal Gear

Having the Pal Gear of your chosen mount Pal in your inventory is required before you can ride your mount in Palworld.

To do this, capture the Pal to unlock their Pal Gear under Technology. You will need to use Technology Points to unlock the gear. You can then craft the item using a Pal Gear Workbench.

Make sure you pick up your Pal Gear from the workbench to add it to your inventory's Key Items!

How to Ride Mount Pals

Summon Pal to Ride Them

To ride a mount Pal, summon your Pal from your party, and then press the Ride button to hop on.

While on your mount Pal, you can use its equipped Active Skills to fight enemies. You can also make your mount Pal move faster by pressing the sprint button.

For Glider Pals, Use as Normal Glider

For Pals that can be used as gliders, you don't have to take them out to use them. As long as they're in your party and their gear is in your inventory, they will automatically act as your glider when you press the jump button while in the air.
