Reset the cooldown of your Pal's Partner and Active Skills by dropping them from the Party Menu. Discover the details of the Pal skill cooldown reset trick in this guide.
Bypass your Pal's skill cooldowns by dropping them from the Party Menu and picking them back up. Your Pal's Partner Skills and Active Skills reset after picking them back up.
This trick is best used for any powerful Partner Skills such as Lyleen's Heal, Jolthog or Jolthog Cryst's Shock or Ice grenade effects, or Pals than can equip weapons.
To drop a Pal from your party, enter the Main Menu, then go to the Party tab. From the Party Menu, select the Pal you want to drop and press the Drop Pal prompt.
Be careful when dropping your Pal as anyone can pick them up, and its Pal Sphere will stay there if you happen to die while it's dropped.
Though this trick works for both Partner Skills and Active Skills, it is best used for powerful Partner Skills with longer cooldowns.
To maximize your damage while fighting with your Pal, you can have them use a powerful, long-cooldown Active Skill twice in a row. To do this trick, use the skill while mounted first, then unmount to have the Pal use the skill again.
This works because the skills' cooldown when mounted differs from the cooldown when the Pal is not mounted, allowing the Pal to use both as long as you command them to use it while mounted.
This, of course, only works on Pals that can be mounted, and is best used with powerful Active Skills such as Dragon Meteor, Blizzard Spike, or Fire Ball.
