How to Beat Zoe and Grizzbolt

Zoe and Grizzbolt are Palworld's first Tower Boss battle at the Rayne Syndicate Tower. Make sure to bring a Ground-type Pal and use the Crossbow. Read on to see which Pals and Gear are the best to use for this battle, general tips to battle her, and what rewards you can obtain from her.

How to Beat Zoe and Grizzbolt

Reach At Least Level 15 With Both Player and Main Pal

Your level might be too low for this fight. Although the Tutorial Mission to fight the Rayne Syndicate Tower Boss is available from early on in the game, the difficulty of the boss is too high for players to defeat as soon as they can reach the area. Try leveling your character and the main Pal you plan to use for the fight by catching more Pals, improving your base, or just beating up more Pals.

Catching 10 of each of the readily available Pals is a great way to increase your level, since you get huge EXP bonuses just for catching the first 10 of any Pal species.

Use the Crossbow

The Crossbow is available starting at Level 13, and the Materials needed to craft it are not hard to acquire. One shot from the Crossbow will deal over 300 damage to Grizzbolt, and only costs 1 Arrow per shot, making it a cheap and easy way to deal a ton of damage from a distance.

Keep your Distance and Stay Behind Pillars

Grizzbolt's AI is not the brightest, and simply staying behind one of the pillars in the room is enough to avoid most of its attacks. Keep Grizzbolt focused on your Pal, while staying opposite the pillar and peeking out to shoot it with your Bow.

Grizzbolt will also occasionally use an attack which targets the player with a red homing circle; this can also be blocked by a pillar so staying on the other side of a pillar throughout the fight will handle this as well.

Use a Ground Type Pal

Grizzbolt is an Electric Element Pal meaning it is weak to Ground type attacks! Try to use Pals who know moves like Sand Blast or Stone Blast to quickly whittle down Zoe and her Grizzbolt.

Ground Type Pals will also resist Grizzbolt's Electric attacks, allows it to sponge Grizzbolt's attacks and giving you room to fire away at Grizzbolt while it's distracted trying to wear down your Pal.

Try to Find One With Power of Gaia Passive

Power of Gaia raises the damage dealt by Earth type attacks. This will let you deal more damage to Zoe and Grizzbolt.

5 Ancient Technology Points and a Fast Travel Point

You can get Character EXP, Pal EXP, and 5 Ancient Technology Points for beating Zoe and Grizzbolt. The amount of EXP you gain depends on the settings on the World.

In addition, upon completing the battle, you'll unlock a new Fast Travel Point on top of the tower, which also grants an extra Technology Point. You can use a Glider from here to more conveniently reach nearby areas.

How to Catch Zoe and Grizzbolt

With a unique glitch, you'll be able to catch Zoe and Grizzbolt during their boss fight!

All you need to do is get a wanted level, get chased by PIDF Guards, battle the Tower Boss, and have the guards damage the boss.

Once damage, throw a Pal Sphere to catch Zoe and Grizzbolt. You'll be able to use them in battles or in the base, and they're quite bulky as they retain their HP during the boss fight!
