It is recommended to always have an empty inventory when working around your base. Make sure to always put every material your get in Storage since when you craft in base, you will use every item stored within the area.

If you find yourself with a full inventory, you can equip any Grappling Gun so you can sling yourself to the nearest box.

The best weapons to carry when you need to fight are the Legendary Pump-Action Shotgun and the Legendary Rocket Launcher. With the former for weakening Pals you don't have yet while the latter is for mowing down Pals and NPCs.

While a Melee weapon is not recommended for fighting Pals, you can use a Sword if you don't want to waste your ammo.

The Homing Sphere Launcher is used to capture Pals from a safe distance while your Pal takes the brunt of the damage.
