The Pal Pathfinding Bug is a clipping glitch that happens in Palworld that can interrupt pals from performing autonomous base tasks. Read ahead to learn more about the pathfinding bug and how to fix it by spacing out your facilities and building your base in flat areas!
The Pal Pathfinding Bug disorients a Pal's pathfinding protocol, which interrupts it from performing any autonomous Base Tasks or even going to a feed box to eat.
The Pal Pathfinding Bug can also cause Pals to “clip” into certain environmental objects, which traps them in certain corners or stops them from moving completely.
With the recent release of the v0.1.4.0 Patch Update last January 31, 2024, several known issues related to the Pal Pathfinding Bug have been resolved.
Players should see an improvement when Pals are doing autonomous tasks at your base and that they should no longer get stuck in various places while performing their duties.
Palworld 1.4 Patch Notes and Updates
A possible solution for this bug is to properly space out the structures and facilities in your base, ensuring that Pals do not have to pass through tight corners and potentially get stuck.
An effect of the pathfinding bug is it forces Pals to look for alternate routes to reach their work stations. This can sometimes lead to them falling off nearby cliffs or spawning in inconvenient locations.
By building your base on a flat surface, you can minimize the chances of this occurring.
Sometimes all your Pal needs is a helping hand to get out of a tough spot.
Walk up to your Pal and throw them at their workstations or back towards your base to reset their pathing and hopefully solve the issue.
Move your Pal from the “Pals at the base” to any of your Boxes to despawn the stuck Pal.
Afterwards, simply re-assign your pal to the base duties to have it spawn in front of the Pal Box.
With the Base AI Fix and Pathfinding Improvements confirmed for a future update, players can finally stop worrying about the Pal Pathfinding Bug.
