Paladius's Partner Skill is Holy Knight of the Firmament, which grants the player a triple jump when Paladius is ridden as a mount.

Pal Blast	A strong Neutral Element attack with 150 power.
Spear Thrust	A move that charges forward with a Spear, while the Shield on its other hand protects it.
Blizzard Spike	Ice-type attack that also explodes and damages enemies around the target.

Ferocious	Burly Body
Legend	Swift

Ferocious increases Paladius's Attack power. This stacks with Legend, increasing its Attack power even further.

Burly Body improves Paladius's already high Defense stat.

Legend increases Paladius's Attack, Defense and movement speed.

Swift dramatically improves Paladius's movement speed.

Use Paladius for its Partner Skill

Its Partner Skill grants you the ability to triple jump when riding Paladius as a mount. This gives you mobility options when on the field.

Avoid Dark Pals

It is best to avoid Dark Element Pals altogether, as they can deal boosted damage to Paladius.

Shadowbeak and Jormuntide Ignis have good defense stats and can tank Paladius's Neutral attacks with minimal risk.

Paladius's Partner Skill is Holy Knight of the Firmament. Unfortunately, this is only useful if it's your active Pal.

As for its Work Suitabilities, it has Lumbering Lv. 2 and Mining Lv. 2. These aren't great for a Legendary Pal since there are other Pals that are easier to get with better Work Suitability levels, but it offsets this by being one of the best base defenders in the game thanks to its great base stats and attacks that it naturally learns.

These four passives are used to give Paladius a balanced boost to its Work and Movement Speeds.

Artisan and Serious give it a +70% Work Speed boost, helping it quickly finish a task so that it can move on to the next one.

Swift and Runner are used to give it a +50% Movement Speed boost, making it swiftly move from task to task.

Alternatively, you could use -Hunger or +Sanity passives if you plan on assigning Paladius to a Logging Site or Stone Pit.

Pass Down Skills Through Breeding

Some skills are exclusive to certain Pals, making the only way to get it on Paladius is to pass it down via breeding.

Since Paladius is a Legendary Pal, it can only be hatched from eggs that come from two Paladius breeding together. This means that it cannot get certain exclusive passives like Lucky or Ice Emperor through breeding.

Spear Thrust	Its signature attack that also protects itself when charging at the enemy.
Pal Blast	A powerful Neutral-type attack that can decimate enemy raiders.
Blizzard Spike	An Ice-type attack in case of Dark-types that resist its Neutral-type attacks.

Do note that if you have raids turned off in the world settings, then active skills don't matter for Paladius's best base build.
