As of Version 0.5, certain Pals now provide Gliding passives instead of being able to be used as gliders. While they can no longer be used as substitute for gliders, their effects remain roughly the same.

Celaray is easily captured in the earlier parts of the game and will be a great quality-of-life improvement compared to the earlier craftable gliders.
Once you've leveled up and progressed, you can replace Celaray with Galeclaw, the fastest glider Pal available. Though you can acquire fast flying mounts at the game's later stages, Galeclaw can still be helpful as a quick option to go around dungeons or your bases.
Hangyu and Hangyu Cryst both serve a niche purpose of lifting the player briefly when gliding. This vertical boost can be chained together to reach high locations. Additionally, if you can maintain your momentum from sliding or grappling, these Pals can lift you higher and move at incredible speeds!
Criteria for Tier Placings
The following are the criteria to be met when ranking Pals for Gliding.

B Tier Pals are upgrades to the C Tier Pals but will fall off for end-game purposes. |

Hangyu and Hangyu Cryst have a bonus of giving you an extra elevation boost when you're using them to glide! This should make these Pals valuable if you have yet to obtain a flying mount Pal.

How to Use Glider Pals in Palworld
- Capture Pals in their Habitats or Breed other Pals
- Craft the Respective Pal Gear from the Pal Gear Workbench
- Have the Glider Pal in your Party
- Press the Jump Button while Airborne
Capture Pals in their Habitats or Breed other Pals
Most glider Pals can be caught with Pal Spheres in the wild except for Killamari, a dungeon-exclusive Pal.

Craft the Respective Pal Gear from the Pal Gear Workbench

To ride a specific Pal, you need to craft their respective Pal Gear at a Pal Gear Workbench. Both can be unlocked in the Technology Tab of the Menu.
Note that each Pal Gear has its recipe, so make sure you get the materials needed beforehand to craft the Pal Gear you need for your Mount.

Have the Glider Pal in your Party
Put your glider Pal into your party by moving it to your party from the Palbox.
Press the Jump Button while Airborne
Press the jump button while airborne to deploy your glider. Having the Pal and corresponding Pal Gear allows it to use its Partner Skill, which should improve your Gliding Capabilities.

How to Get the Best Glider Pals
Upgrade Partner Skill to Increase Gliding Speed
To further improve your Pal's gliding abilities, upgrade their Partner Skill from the Pal Essence Condenser by sacrificing other Pals of the same species.
Each Partner Skill upgrade increases the gliding speed, as well as decreasing the stamina consumption for each glider Pal.
Note that the Pal's movement speed does not affect its gliding speed. Therefore, Passive Skills such as Swift or Runner would not increase the gliding speed.
