Pal Buy and Sell Values Explained

Palworld - Pal Buy and Sell Values Explained

In Palworld, buy and sell values are affected by the level of the Pals. Learn the formula for buy and sell values, how different Pal upgrades, including active and passive skills, affect their values, and if different merchants have different prices.

Pal Buy and Sell Values Explained

Values Are Based on Pal Level

In our testing, we found that the prices of Pals are based solely on their levels. This means Alpha Bosses and Lucky Pals do not increase their value in Gold Coins.

The buy and sell values of each Pal are determined by a base price that must be plugged into formulas to determine the buying and selling values.

Buy Values Sample

Dinossom Lux Level Buy Value
Level 29 19,773 Gold Coins
Level 30 20,280 Gold Coins
Level 31 20,787 Gold Coins
Level 32 21,294 Gold Coins
Pal Buy Value Formula
[1.5 + (0.15 x Level)] x Base Price

The Buy Value of a Pal is its base price multiplied by a factor based on its level. At level 1, this would be 1.65x, 1.8x for level 2, and so on. This means buying a level 50 Pal would be 9 times its base price.

In the example above, we can calculate the base price for Dinossom Lux to be 3,380.

Sell Values Sample

Gumoss Level Sell Value
Level 7 167 Gold Coins
Level 8 176 Gold Coins
Level 9 186 Gold Coins
Level10 196 Gold Coins
Pal Sell Value Formula
Buy Value / 20

The Sell Value of a Pal depends on the Buy Value, meaning it also scales with level. Simply put, the selling price of a Pal is the buying price divided by 20, rounded down.

Active and Passive Skills Do Not Affect Sell Value

We also found that skills do not affect a Pal's sell value. We compared several Jolthogs of the same level but with different combinations of skills. One Jolthog was fed an Epic Skill Fruit, as well, to imbue an additional active skill.

Skills vs Sell Value Testing

Pal Passive Skills Additional Active Skills Sell Value
Jolthog
(Level 5)
No Passive Skills No Additional Active Skills 119 Gold Coins
Jolthog
(Level 5)
No Passive Skills Hydro Laser 119 Gold Coins
Jolthog
(Level 5)
Cheery
(Tier 1)
No Additional Active Skills 119 Gold Coins
Jolthog
(Level 5)
Musclehead
(Tier 2)
No Additional Active Skills 119 Gold Coins

We were also able to compare a Level 25 Swee with a Tier 3 skill and a second Swee of the same level with a -1 Tier skill, and both Pals still had the same sell value.

List of Passive Skills List of Active Skills

Pal Merchant and Black Marketeer Have Same Sell Values

Selling a Pal to either the Pal Merchants or the Black Marketeers will provide the same value, so you don't have to worry about finding the best merchant for the highest profits.

Pal Base Values are Different

Different Pals have different base values. This means that different Pals of the same level may have different selling and buying prices.
