What are Armor, Accessories and Shields?

Armor, Accessories, and Shields are equippable items that increase your survivability in different ways:

Armor and Headgear Increase Defense

Headgear and Body Armor are equipment that increase your defense, thus reducing the damage you receive from enemies. Armor is necessary for increasing your survivability and making sure you last longer against hard-hitting bosses.

Some Armor Now Have Base Heat and Cold Resistances

As of Version 0.2.0.6, some armor have now been updated to have at least level 1 of both Heat and Cold Resistances.

This quality of life change is meant to remove the need to switch between armor during the nighttime when you're wearing heat-resistant armor and you need a cold-resistant one. This is especially helpful in the starting areas.

Accessories Grant Stat Boosts and Effects

Accessories are equipment that grant a large variety of stat boosts and effects, such as raising your work speed, or adding resistance to certain elements.

Shields Negate Damage

Shields are equipment that completely negate all incoming damage. Your shield has a bar that decreases when hit, and quickly regenerates after a while. Shields are essential for any player to have, as it removes the risk of getting one-shot by a strong enemy.
