There will be new outfits in Volume 1 of the Expansion Pass. Though it does not change the stats of your characters, changing the outfits of your characters allows you to add a unique touch to your party.

Helpful Nopon Coins
Nopon Coins are a new form of currency in the game that can be used to craft gems or cook food without the need for collecting materials. This content will surely come in handy in the early game since it gives players an easy way to obtain items at the start.

DLC Expansion Pass Wave 2 Guide
New Defender Hero Ino!
Getting Volume 2 will allow you to recruit the newest DLC Hero named Ino. According to the latest DLC trailer, Ino will have her own Hero Quest, introducing and unlocking a brand new Defender class that you can use called the Noponic Champion.
Challenge Battles
This brand new DLC will also introduce Challenge Battles. This mode has you clear waves of difficult enemies to earn different raise your rank and earn rewards. Among the rewards is a special type of currency that you can use to buy powerful items!
New Cosmetics: Swimwear
Aside from the brand new hero and the new game mode, DLC Volume 2 also allows you to unlock and equip new Cosmetic Swimwear. While details have yet to be revealed, the DLC trailer hints that these can probably be earned by raising your rank in Challenge Battles.

The Expansion Pass DLC is currently available for pre-order for USD 29.99/ GBP£26.99. The first volume of content is scheduled to be released on the same day as the game's launch allowing you to enjoy the additional as soon as you start playing.
Available in the Nintendo Eshop
The Expansion Pass is currently only available for purchase online through the Nintendo Eshop. This can also be accessed in-game upon opening the main menu and selecting Expansion Pass.
Players able to access Nintendo's UK Eshop can also buy both the Exapnsion Pass and the base game as a set for £76.98.

Given that the Espansion Pass DLC includes new Hero Characters, Quests, and story content, purchasing it will surely add extra hours on top of the existing content of Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
