The Skeletal Mage can fire a beam that deals continuous damage to anyone it focuses on. Circle around the mage to avoid this attack and get a few hits in.
Other than the beam, the rest of its attacks are easier to dodge. If you run low on health and potions, keep attacking the Skeletal Mage until it drops health orbs.
