Freezing Pillar Effects Per Rank

(Lv. 15)		 Drives a large pillar of frigid ice into the ground, dealing damage and high Frost Accumulation to nearby enemies.
Rank 2
(Lv. 18)		 The pillar no longer breaks on impact but remains as a lingering frost area of effect. The pillar shatters after taking damage or 20 seconds have passed, sending out Explosive Damage to nearby enemies.
Rank 3
(Lv. 20)		 Reduces the Essence cost by 25%.

The higher ranks of Freezing Pillar increase the power and efficacy but will remain locked until you reach the required level to unlock it.

Get a Grimoire to Cast it without it Unlocked

Get a Grimoire with the Freezing Pillar ability to cast it even if it's not yet unlocked from the Wizard Ability Tree. However, you will still need to unlock the required Grimoire Mastery Rank (if there's any) to cast the ability.

Also, if you unlock this ability and have a Grimoire, it will become stronger when cast.

How to Unlock Freezing Pillar

Reach Level 15 to Unlock

Level Up
You must reach Level 15 to unlock the base rank of Freezing Pillar in the Wizard Ability Tree. You can then spend Ability Points to activate and upgrade it once you reach the level requirement.

You must have Grimoire Mastery Rank 3 to unlock and use Freezing Pillar in battle. It means you must spend additional Ability Points on the Grimoire Mastery Ability.
