Tips to Defeat Fiery Blowhog

Bring Red Pikmin

Pikmin 4 - Red Pikmin
We recommend Red Pikmin for your fight against the Fiery Blowhogs since they are Fire Resistant and can withstand this creature's fiery attacks.

Call Back Other Pikmin If Blown Away

If any of your Pikmin are blown away, whistle and call back your other Pikmin to return to you, especially if they are not Red Pikmin. After blowing away any Pikmin, the enemy will immediately attempt to breathe fire so it's best have your Pikmin return immediately.

Throw One Then Throw All

Since the Fiery Blowhog stops moving for a while after its blow attack, it is best to send one Red Pikmin first and have it blown away. Afterwards, send a large group of Pikmin to deal damage to the creature.

If you have the Charging Horn, press X twice to lead all your Pikmin to attack at once!

DalmoDalmo's Log You'll recognize it by its plump, bottle- shaped torso and round, bright-red mouth! Have you ever seen such an adorable creature?! But no matter how cute it seems, when observing this species, you had best remain behind it. Otherwise, you could end up in its path when it spits a gout of flame and get cooked right up!
OlimarOlimar's Log This creature expels a volatile phosphorus compound from its snout that combusts upon contact with air. This fire-breathing ability is dependent upon the air-to-fuel ratio at its mouth, catalyst reaction within the expelled compound, and purification of the compound.
Thus it is highly unlikely such a complex process could cause the spontaneous explosion of a fallen Blowhog. (This process is also perhaps to avoid risk of spontaneous combustion in the belly of a live specimen).
However, one should still treat a Fiery Blowhog with great care during transfer.
LouieLouie's Log Roast this flavorful beast for several hours, letting it stew in its own succulent juices. Don't worry about overcooking this beast... It's scorchproof.
