You will encounter two Emperor Bulblaxes in the Kingdom of Beasts. To make the fight easier, defeat one before moving on to the next. Don't get eaten by both!
Pikmin cannot attach on Emperor Bulblax's mossy back; the face is the only surface they can latch on to. To get your Pikmin there, ride Oatchi and use Rush after its tongue attack to deal damage and launch your Pikmin on it.
With enough Red Pikmin, Emperor Bulblax will go down before it has a chance to windup for its next attack. It's recommended to collect Flarlics before this boss fight to increase your Pikmin limit.
Its body slam move will destroy any Pikmin within its proximity, with the exception of Rock Pikmin. Time your attacks well and don't get too close to Emperor Bulblax.
Emperor Bulblax will let out a roar that will scatter Oatchi and your Pikmin. Quickly recall them by holding down the B button and regroup for your next attack!

Dalmo's Log | It has broad moss-covered flanks and a head like a desert, complete with big drooping jowls and small googly eyes. This creature appears to be quite moody, but it does have a cooperative streak. The way this temperamental, bulbous giant cohabitates with others of its kind is quite surprising!
Olimar's Log | The largest member of the Grub-Dog family is normally found burrowed underground. This camouflage allows the predator to surprise smaller creatures and use its long, adhesive tongue to capture prey. The thick hide and angular hump give the organism a distinct rocklike quality. During the rainy season, moss grows freely on its hump, making it nearly impossible to distinguish this lethal predator from a stone.
Louie's Log | To prep the tongue for cooking, marinate in olive oil and chop into cubes. Stir in a pot with carrots, potatoes, and chives, cover, and simmer over low heat for several hours. Accompany this mouthwatering, rustic stew with a hearty roll. |
