Will There Be DLC?

DLC for Pikmin 4 has not been announced. Read on to learn the chances of getting DLC and what features could be added in the future.

Will There Be DLC?
No DLC Announced Yet
Nintendo has no announcements for Pikmin 4 DLC as of writing. However, DLC for the game may be released a few months after release.
DLC is Still Likely
The original Pikmin 3, which was released in 2013, received three DLC packs, including Mission Mode. These were all released within six months after its original launch. The re-released Pikmin 3 Deluxe came with DLC and several new features. However, it did not get more additions after launch.
Still, Pikmin 4 has the best first-week sales in the series, so there is a good chance Nintendo will expand on the game with DLC.
Potential DLC Inclusions
Harder Difficulty Mode
Pikmin 4 only has a single difficulty mode and was designed with newcomers in mind. Pikmin 3 Deluxe added Hard and Ultra-Spicy difficulties which reduced the day length and made enemies tougher. These could be added as DLC to make the game more challenging for veterans!
Possible New Game Plus
New Game Plus could be added and developed with harder difficulties in mind. These features should allow us to make the most of the endgame gear and skills!
More Dandori Battles and Challenges
The game has several Dandori Battles and Challenges that you can try to clear with Platinum. More could be added as DLC, similar to Mission Mode from Pikmin 3.
It's also possible we'll see the return of Bingo Battles as an alternate way to win in Dandori Battles!
Local Co-Op and Online Multiplayer
Pikmin 4 currently has limited multiplayer options with the Pebble Pitcher and Versus Mode in Dandori Battles. Both can only be played on the same Switch, as the game currently doesn't support local or online multiplayer.
Split-screen co-op multiplayer could be added, just like in Pikmin 3 Deluxe, since Oatchi can already do most things your character can do. Online Dandori Battles can also be a welcome addition so you can challenge other players all over the world!

It'd be cool, imo, if there were challenges like in pikmin 1 where you have to increase pikmin, start with 5 sprouts and make more. It could have difficulty by one colour so red, then 2,3,4 etc, until you get to all 8 or 9 if in a cave with glow pikmin.
