Rescue the Rescue Corps is a Main Mission in Pikmin 4 given by Collin where you search for the missing officers of the Rescue Corps. Read on for the objectives needed to complete Rescue the Rescue Corps, how to unlock it, and the obtainable reward from this Main Mission!
Rescue the Rescue Corps is the first mission that you will receive after completing the game's Prologue with Captain Olimar.
# | Rescue the Rescue Corps Objectives |
---|---|
1 | Find the Rescue Pup |
2 | Find the Comms Operator |
3 | Find the Captain |
4 | Find the Scientist |
5 | Find the Ranger |
6 | Find the Doctor |
7 | Find the Pilot |
Oatchi, the Rescue Corps Rescue Pup, is found immediately as you land on PNF-404. Follow the path from the ship and approach our trusty doggo!
Collin, the Rescue Corps Comms Operator, is found just on the other side of where Oatchi was! Call Oatchi with your whistle and have him pull the sprout to remove the dirt wall nearby.
Proceed past the broken pot to rescue Collin.
The leader of the Rescue Corps, Captain Shepherd, is also found nearby.
Keep following the path from where you found Oatchi and Collin until you run into a ledge and find an open hole on the other side. From here, turn right to find another hole buried in dirt.
Have Oatchi dig up the entrance and jump down to the Burrow of Beginnings.
Once you're down below, move onward and go up the slope to your left. Captain Shepherd will be in the next room, cornered by unknown creatures.
Since you don't have any other means to attack yet, send in Oatchi to take out the three creatures and rescue the captain!
Attention! | Russ can be in a different location than the one mentioned here as the first unidentified rescue will always be him regardless of the location. Castaways (those without names and faces until rescued) aren't tied to a location, but instead to a specific order. |

Russ Location |
---|
Last-Frost Cavern - Sublevel 1 Next to the cave exit, past the hydro jellies. |
The first cave that you will run into is the Last-Frost Cavern. If you clear the cave and find the exit, you'll find Russ nearby.
Attention! | Like Russ, Dingo may also be in a different location than the one mentioned here. |
---|
Dingo Location |
---|
Crackling Cauldron - Sublevel 2 On a higher platform blocked by a sizzling floor. Extinguish the sizzling floor with Red Pikmin first before lobbing Yellow Pikmin to get the castaway. |
Dingo the Ranger is the fourth non-leafling castaway that you will find, and will also tell you about the last time he saw the Rescue Corps pilot.
Meet him back at the command post and he will urge you to scour every inch of an area for hidden treasures and castaways!
Attention! | Like Russ and Dingo, Yonny may also be in a different location than the one mentioned here. |
---|
Yonny Location |
---|
Drafty Gallery - Sublevel 4 At the final sublevel of the cave. You'll have to defeat the Puffy Blowhog first to make it release the castaway. |
Yonny the Doctor is the eighth non-leafling castaway that you will find. Returning to the base with the doctor will unlock Night Expeditions!
With Night Expeditions unlocked, you can now obtain "glow sap" from Lumiknolls! These will be used to create a cure for the leaflings that you rescue from Dandori Challenges and Battles.
To progress this mission, rescue 2 leaflings from the challenges and obtain 2 capsules of glow sap to return them to normal.
Dingo will remember that he saw the leafling with a dog when he and Bernard got separated. He suggests that you look for him in hopes of finding Bernard's whereabouts.
The red leafling with a dog only appears in Dandori Battles, and you must beat him in 3 different battles to rescue 3 purple leaflings.
The third Dandori Battle can be found in Serene Shores, which unlocks after collecting 4,000 Sparklium.
You must now obtain enough glow sap to cure the 3 purple leaflings that you rescued from the Dandori Battles.
Take note that if you have pink leaflings with you at the Rescue Command Post, there's a random chance that one of them will receive the cure instead of a purple one, so multiple Night Expeditions might be needed.
The third purple leafling will always be Bernard, the Pilot of the Rescue Corps. Giving him the cure will complete the Rescue Corps once again, as well as this main mission!
Completing Rescue the Rescue Corps and Secure Energy Source will unlock the fourth area, Hero's Hideaway! Explore this area to continue your search for Captain Olimar.
