All areas and maps in Pikmin 4 are yours to explore. See a list of all areas in the game, the number of treasures, castaways, and onions in each location, how to unlock them, as well as how many areas there are in the game.

You can explore a total of six areas in Pikmin 4! Each area offers a different kind of environment and adventure that you, Oatchi, and your Pikmin will surely enjoy. Below is a list of all areas and every objective you can finish to complete the area 100%!

How to Unlock: Establish a base at the Rescue Command Post.
7 Castaways	34 Treasures	4 Onions

The Sun-Speckled Terrace is the first explorable area. This garden will show you the ropes for exploring through the game.

Blossoming Arcadia

Blossoming Arcadia
How to Unlock: Collect 1,500 Sparklium.
9 Castaways	60 Treasures	3 Onions

This map has you going through a flower-filled area and the caves will start having bosses that you have to beat. The Blossoming Arcadia unlocks once you get 1,500 Sparklium.

Serene Shores

Serene Shores
How to Unlock: Collect 4,000 Sparklium.
10 Castaways	86 Treasures	3 Onions

Upon reaching 4,000 Sparklium, you'll be able to explore the Serene Shores. This area is full of water and beaches so bring lots of Blue Pikmin.

Hero's Hideaway

Hero's Hideaway
How to Unlock: Collect 7,000 Sparklium and rescue Bernard.
6 Castaways	86 Treasures	3 Onions

Unlike the other areas in Pikmin 4, the Hero's Hideaway has you exploring the inside of the house. This is the last area you'll visit to save Olimar and requires 7,000 Sparklium to unlock.

Giant's Hearth

Giant's Hearth
How to Unlock: Collect 11,000 Sparklium and complete the Rescue Olimar mission.

The Giant's Hearth is the first postgame area unlocked after rescuing Olimar, taking place outdoors once again. Here, you'll continue finding missing castaways and treasure.

Primordial Thicket

Primordial Thicket
How to Unlock: Collect 13,000 Sparklium and rescue Don Bergman and Yorke.

The Primordial Thicket is the final area in the game. As the last map, it is closer to nature and more perilous to navigate.

How Many Areas Are There?

Six Areas

There are six areas to explore in Pikmin 4, not including the Rescue Command Post. These areas are also accessed during Night Expeditions and Olimar's Shipwreck Tale.

Track With Oatchi Finish Caves, Dandori Battles, and Challenges Defeat All Enemies Clear All Obstacles

Track With Oatchi

Oatchi can sniff out castaways, treasure, and onions, all of which are needed for 100% completion. This is particularly helpful for completely hidden treasures like the Child of the Earth, which can be very easy to miss.

Finish Caves, Dandori Battles, and Challenges

You can only find the castaways inside caves, so you'll want to visit every cave to save them all. Be sure to pick up any treasure and onions you encounter too!

Defeat All Enemies

Enemies don't count for 100% completion, but some of them drop treasure when defeated. Take down all the creatures you encounter so you don't miss anything.

Clear All Obstacles

Some locations are blocked until you clear out the obstacles in your way. You may need different types of Pikmin or certain items to access them.

How to Unlock Areas and Maps

Obtain Sparklium

You can unlock more locations when you obtain a certain number of Sparklium. This allows you to restore the S.S. Shepherd's radar to detect more locations when you talk to Collin at the Rescue Command Post.

You can get Sparklium when you transport treasures and fallen enemies to the base when exploring caves.
