Unlock Winged Pikmin in Below-Grade Discotheque

Winged Pikmin are first encountered in the Below-Grade Discotheque cave in Serene Shores, the third unlockable area. The cave is located south of the map.

If you need more Winged Pikmin, you can 100% the cave and go to Sublevel 3 again to create more Winged Pikmin from the Pink Candypop Bud.

Get the Pink Onion in Primordial Thicket

The Pink Onion can be acquired from the Primordial Thicket, the post-game area after you complete the main story. To get the Pink Onion, you'll need White Pikmin to clear out the poison.

The Pink Onion is used to increase your Winged Pikmin population by retrieving pellets and enemies with Winged Pikmin.

You won't find the Pink Onion until the postgame, so if you need more Winged Pikmin, you can 100% a cave where they are found, then revisit it. For these caves, you'll need to throw your other Pikmin at the Pink Candypop Buds to get more of them.

Can Fly Above Most Obstacles

Winged Pikmin have, well... wings! These allow them to fly and bypass most obstacles like water, sizzling floors, hazardous environments, elevated platforms, as well as enemies on the ground.

Get your things (including enemy corpses) moved through airdrop!

Good at Aerial Combat

Winged Pikmin also excel at aerial combat and can take down most flying enemies with ease, especially when sent in groups.

However, Winged Pikmin have lower attack power in exchange for mobility, so they aren't that effective in small numbers.

Dalmo	These peculiar little fliers look like they're wearing goggles. Don't be put off by their odd appearance though. Places that seem like dead ends, such as treacherous roads, lakes, swamps, and sheer cliffs, are nothing to them when they're not carrying anything. With a few flaps of their tiny wings, they flit through the air like fierce fairies.
Olimar	The wings on the back of this flying Pikmin species closely resemble the wings you would find on a flying creature. It's possible that an ancient Winged Onion somehow absorbed a flying creature's DNA, which then resulted in the precursor to the Winged Pikmin transforming into the species we recognize today. If this theory is correct, then Onions might also be serving the role of messenger, transmitting new traits and characteristics to their Pikmin.
