Use Rush While It's Still Buried

When you first encounter Man-at-Legs, it will be buried with only the top of its body exposed. Ride Oatchi and use Rush right away to deal damage and send your Pikmin at it. Doing this will inflict significant damage early.

If you have enough Ice Pikmin, Man-at-Legs will be frozen at least once, further extending your attack time. Be sure to utilize all of your Red Pikmin during this!

Run Sideways on Oatchi to Avoid Its Aim

Man-at-Legs' attack involves aiming a red laser at you and your Pikmin then firing away. Avoid this by riding Oatchi and running laps around it. There will be a gap between the laser and the actual shots, so just keep moving and you won't get hit.

You Can Also Take Cover Behind Walls

Another way to avoid this move is by hiding behind walls placed around the area. However, be careful since there are limited number of walls you can hide behind; make sure you defeat Man-at-Legs before you run out of cover!

Wait for It to Stop Attacking Before Launching Your Pikmin

After Man-at-Legs stops attacking you, throw your Pikmin at it to deal damage until it's taken down. We recommend throwing Ice Pikmin until it freezes before throwing Red Pikmin for damage.

It is particularly difficult to understand why this species would develop such awesome offensive capabilities, leading to rumors among the scientific community that it was the machinery that approached the Arachnorb and proposed the symbiotic relationship.
