Pikmin 4 - Is There Versus Mode

Versus Mode in Pikmin 4 can be accessed through Dandori Battles in the title screen. Read on to learn if there is a Versus Mode, as well as the settings and controls for the mode.

Dandori Battle is the Versus Mode

Pikmin 4 - Versus Mode Dandori Battle

Dandori Battles pit two players against each other to see who can score the most points before time runs out. To play versus mode, select Dandori Battles from the Title Screen and then pick P1 vs. P2. From here, you'll set up your controllers and select a stage. More stages will be unlocked after finishing matches.

You can only play with a friend through the same system, as the game doesn't support local or online co-op.

Versus Mode Settings

Player Settings

Pikmin 4 - Versus Mode Player Settings

This setting lets you choose the appearance of your character from your save files. Player 2 appears to be limited to only Olimar and Louie.

Battle Settings

Pikmin 4 - Versus Mode Battle Settings

This setting changes the type of Pikmin that both players will use. It also has toggles for Bonus Finds, Mystery Capsules (or items), and Sneak Bombs.

Difficulty works like a handicap for players and can be set individually. Spicy difficulties start with major disadvantages, while Sweet ones should have an easier time.
