It's still possible to overlook some well-hidden treasures and end up stuck with 99% progress. To avoid missing these treasures, command Oatchi to sniff out buried treasure and equip the Treasure Gauge.
Unlike caves, creatures defeated on the surface stay dead on future days if not collected. If they were transported back as nutrients for Pikmin, they don't respawn either. This can be useful so your Pikmin can move around undisturbed.
Whenever you train Oatchi or buy anything at the Lab, the Pup Drive and Raw Materials you use can't be refunded. This means you'll likely have to plan your skill upgrades or save up for more important gear.
The rewind feature can ensure you'll still have Pikmin if things get hairy. However, you cannot rewind past sublevels in caves. This also applies to entering and exiting caves, so make sure you're satisfied with your Pikmin count before moving further!
