Checkmark Step 1: Lock On and Throw White Pikmin

Lock On and Throw White Pikmin

Once you encounter Doodlebug, lock on it with the ZR button and throw White Pikmin at it. These Pikmin are immune to the poison cloud Doodlebug emits, so they can safely attack.

Note that Doodlebug cannot be defeated; it will only burrow back underground when attacked three times. It can randomly drop the following items:

Equip Sniff Saver for Oatchi

Equipment Effect and Cost
Sniff SaverSniff Saver This can dissolve any poisonous aromas that affect Oatchi, which prevents our loyal rescue pup from getting poisoned.

Oatchi can help out with Sniff Saver equipped. This gear will prevent the poison cloud Doodlebug emits from damaging our rescue pup.

DalmoDalmo's Log Whoa, that REEKS! It reeks SO BAD! These uncouth little stinkers are always passing gas whenever and wherever, but that also means they're easy to track down. Of course, nobody can stand to get close if they do find one. It's a brilliant defense mechanism!
OlimarOlimar's Log While life-forms that excrete foul musks to warn of danger are not rare, the Doodlebug is the only species known to release flatulence when active aboveground.
Interestingly enough, since it is merely releasing the gas created by the decay of the contents of the creature's intestines, it does not have a special musk-producing organ.
This means the creature is in fact merely flatulating. Spectral analysis of the rank gas indicates it contains not only methane but hydrogen sulfide as well, making the flatulence a Grade XIII biohazard.
