Character creator and customization in Pikmin 4 is available at the start of the game and after rescuing Puddle! Learn about the character creator, how to unlock it, how to change your character's apperaance, as well as all customization options for character creation.

Character creation and customization in Pikmin 4 is a first in the series. You can now create your very own space explorerーwith a variety of looks and colors to choose fromーalongside a name for your ID Badge.
The first time you can change your character's apperance is after you complete the tutorial mission with Olimar. After doing so, you won't be able to change the way you look for a while until after you've rescued Puddle.
To permanently have the option to change your character's appearance, you need to rescue a castaway named Puddle. He is the 9th castaway you can rescue in one of the caves in the game.
After rescuing him, he will stay in the Rescue Command Post where you can talk to him and change your look.

There are eight skin colors to choose from in the character creation menu.

There are four preset physiques to choose from in the next menu.
There are 10 face presets to choose from. Note that face options are different depending on which physique you choose in the previous menu.
There are six hair presets to choose from and much like the face presents, these differ depending on the physique that was selected in the previous menu.

You can choose up to six hair colors in the character creation menu. These include red, yellow, green, blue, purple, and pink.

There are six suit colors that you can choose in the character customization menu. These colors include red, orange, green, blue, purple, and pink.
You can use at least 10 characters to input your name in this menu. Letters, numbers, and special characters can be used.
