How to Get White Pikmin
Unlock White Pikmin in Subzero Sauna
You can encounter and unlock White Pikmin as soon as you access the Subzero Sauna in Serene Shores. You'll need to throw some of your Pikmin at the White Candypop Bud to transform them into White Pikmin.
How to Get More White Pikmin
Get White Onion From the 5th Story of the Trial of the Sage Leaf
You'll receive the White Onion after clearing the fifth stage in the Trial of the Sage Leaf. This is end-game content as you'll need to have rescued Olimar and finished Olimar's Shipwreck Tale.
Obtaining the White Onion will allow you to produce White Pikmin from pellets and enemies. Transport these back to the base with White Pikmin to make more.

You won't find the White Onion until the postgame, so if you need more White Pikmin, you can 100% a cave where they are found, then revisit it. For these caves, you'll need to throw your other Pikmin at the White Candypop Buds to get more of them.
White Pikmin Features and Abilities
White Pikmin are smaller than other Pikmin types and can deal with poison. A White Pikmin is:
- faster than other Pikmin
- able to poison and damage enemies when eaten
- resistant to toxic environments
Fast Movement Speed
White Pikmin move faster than the other Pikmin and are the most efficient in gathering objects. They are also recommended in carrying out building tasks as they can travel to the base and back to the construction site in a short time!
Deals Damage When Eaten
White Pikmin are never in danger. They ARE the danger. Although their normal attacks are weaker than average, their true damage comes from their poisonous nature.
When eaten, the toxins from these Pikmin will deal damage to the enemy. One White Pikmin has enough poison to knock out a Bulborb!
Can Traverse Toxic Environments
White Pikmin are also resistant to poison and can complete tasks that involve hazardous environments or obstacles. They can also deal with enemies that attack with poison.

These tiny White Pikmin can dart about quite swiftly. Their bold red eyes are as charming as they are startling. Like a flower that has sharp thorns, these cute little ones possess a potent poison! Such small critters need to be tough to survive. |

White Pikmin are "born" through a color-changing process within white Candypop Buds, which only grow underground. The poison within its body is a type of diterpene alkaloid similar to a toxin often found in certain plant roots. If ingested, it can lead to vomiting, respiratory distress, and complete organ failure, ultimately resulting in death due to cardiac arrest. Though strong, this poison also has medicinal uses, sometimes going by the name aconite. The Pikmin are Ambuloradices and evolved from plants, but it seems some species retain more of their plant-based heritage than others. |
