Pellets in Pikmin 4 are items that increase the number of your Pikmin. Check out this guide to learn what pellets are, what pellet numbers mean, and how colors affect your new Pikmin.
List of Contents
The number on pellets signify how many Pikmin you need to carry them to the Onion. In addition, pellets with higher numbers produce more Pikmin.
Pikmin from pellets will, however, stay within the Onion if you are at your max Pikmin limit.
How to Increase the Max Pikmin Limit
Pellet Number | Number of Pikmin Produced | |
---|---|---|
Same Color | Different Color | |
1 | 2 | 1 |
5 | 5 | 3 |
10 | 10 | 6 |
Throw Pikmin at pellets with the same color to get as many Pikmin as indicated in the pellet's number.
If your Pikmin and the pellet's color do not match, the number new Pikmin it produces will be less than its indicated number.
Only the No. 1 Pellets are exempted from this rule.
New Pikmin from pellets are determined by which Pikmin type carries the pellet to the Onion. However, Pikmin types will be limited to what Onions you have at the time.
Pellets carried by different Pikmin will produce the Pikmin type that carried more. For example, a 5 Pellet carried by 3 Red Pikmin and 2 Yellow Pikmin will, by majority rule, produce Red Pikmin once carried to the Onion.
All Pikmin Types and How to Unlock Them
Pellets are a way to increase the number of Pikmin in your squad or Onion. You can collect them by throwing Pikmin at Pellet Posies.
