The 2nd Castaway You'll Rescue

Pikmin 4 - Castaway Rescue

Schnauz is the 2nd castaway you'll rescue in Pikmin 4. As you explore different caves, you'll find unconscious castaways to rescue. They will be unidentifiable when found, and their identity will be revealed after you end the day. You unlock characters in a specific order regardless of where you find the castaways.

Schnauz is a treasure appraiser. He is in charge of cataloging all the treasures you find in the game. In addition, he also assigns treasure-related side missions to the player, and provides rewards upon completion.

Pikmin 4 - Schnauz Treasure Catalog

After rescuing Schnauz, you will be able to view all collected treasures by interacting with him at the Rescue Command Post. In the Treasure Catalog, you'll also be able to view descriptions of each individual treasure by selecting a treasure and pressing ZR.
