The Purple Pikmin can defeat several enemies when they slam on the ground. The most efficient way of utilizing this ability to help you finish the scenario faster is by throwing them at large groups repeatedly. This means whistling to get them back immediately as soon as they land to be able to use them again and protect them from danger as well.
One way to lose your Pikmin in this scenario is when they are attacked by a Shearflea. Keep an eye on the positions of the Shearfleas during the scenario, and make sure to immediately rescue Pikmin in danger.
When the enemy number is low, check your map to pause the time and see their exact location. This will save you time from running around the area and trying to look for them.
Because the positions and movement of the enemies are somewhat random, as well as your targeting, this scenario might take several tries. However, due to the short duration of the scenario, repeating it immediately when you know you won't get your target time won't be too much of a bother.
All trials of the Sage Leaf can be found when you enter the cave in the north part of the Rescue Command Post.
This cave is unlocked after finishing Olimar's Shipwreck Tale.
