Dandori Challenge Tips and Strategies |
---|
|
At the beginning of the challenge, you can open up the map and decide the route based on the placement of the treasures, enemies, and Pikmin. The star symbol represents treasures, the small circle represents Pikmin, and purple symbol represents enemies.
In the early stage of the minigame, focus on collecting Pikmin as much as possible. You will need them in order to open shortcuts and transport the treasures and enemies.
Make sure to open up shortcuts and let the Pikmin bloom into a Flower Pikmin as early as possible. Doing these improves efficiency, making it easier to get a high a score.
Try to reduce the number of waiting Pikmin as much as possible and keep assigning them to tasks. Pikmin tend to wait under the onion after transporting objects, so be sure to use the whistle to collect them after.
It is more efficient to have the minimum number of Pikmin carry the objects and assign the remaining with other tasks simultaneously. This increases the speed when transporting the objects, giving you more points in the process.
You can take Oatchi with you when trying these Dandori Challenges. Make sure to raise the Buff skill as this allows him to carry heavier objects.
There is no penalty for losing a Dandori Challenge. You can retry again and learn the placement of the treasures and objects to efficiently transport them within the time limit.
If you failed to clear a Dandori Challenge, Dingo will offer to help you clear it. You can only get this option if you've already rescued Dingo.
Dandori Challenges Dingo helped with won't have a rank since you didn't meet the requirements the first time you played it.
If you've at least received a ranking for the Dandori Challenge and haven't reached platinum yet, you will be given an option to Go to Overtime. You can continue the challenge, but the progress you do will not be recorded anymore.
Once you've finished the challenge during overtime practice, you'll see the time used to complete the whole challenge. You can use this info to improve your micromanaging skills and try to reach platinum rank without having to go to overtime.
Just like Castaways, Dandori Challenges are not tied to a location. You're always going to do them in a specific order regardless of what area you are in.
Below is a list of all the locations where you can find a Dandori Challenge cave.
All Dandori Challenges Locations | |
---|---|
1 | Sun-Speckled Terrace |
2 | Blossoming Arcadia |
3 | Serene Shores |
4 | Hero's Hideaway |
5 | Giant's Hearth |
6 | Primordial Thicket |
Dandori Challenge is a minigame where you collect treasures and enemies within a time limit to earn points. The number of points you get will depend on what you collect and you will get a medal based on your performance and the number of items you collect.
You can unlock more Dandori Challenges as you progress through the game. Find the Leaflings in surface locations and follow them to unlock more challenges.

Dandori Challenges you've cleared during your story progression can be replayed at the Rescue Command Post by talking to Jin, assuming you've already saved him.
Dandori Challenge Rules |
---|
・Get points based on the weight of the item. ・You cannot use your Pikmin in Dandori Challenges, so you need to collect them on the spot. ・The challenge ends immediately once you collect all the items on the map. ・The Dandori Challenge in the Rescue Command Post can be played until all items are obtained. |
You obtain points based on the weight of the item and enemies you transport to the base. Heavier objects give more points but are more difficult to transport.
You cannot use your Pikmin when completing Dandori Challenges. You will need to use the ones that spawn within the minigame. Use the whistle to gather waiting Pikmin and defeat the enemies to have the attacking Pikmin join you.
